The L Family : Root Photography Holiday Mini Session!

December 8, 2017 by Jensey 1 Comment

Seeing as it’s already DECEMBER, I’m determined to blog all of the precious holiday mini sessions that Nate shot! :)

The biggest work change for us since Ollie arrived has been that I stepped away from photographing sessions. It’s helping me find the sweet spot in being a work-from-home mom, and Nate going off to sessions gives me precious one on one date time with my little muppet. The downside of this, of course, is that I miss out on seeing a lot of faces I love, and sometimes I get a little jealous of the time Nate gets to hang out with them!! But stepping back from sessions was a non negotiable for me- I knew we could get family or a trusted sitter for our ~25 weddings a year, but I wasn’t ready to leave him for our ~50 portrait sessions on top of that. Nate has been an absolute champ and not only stepped up to the plate to take over shooting these, but has really stepped up his game!

We knew this was our parenting plan when we started our adoption process, so for the past two years, every portrait session photo I’ve blogged or Instagrammed has been taken by Nate. Because he is amazing. <3

The L family was a sad one for me to miss, but it was also a good reminder that you know, these guys live in town and we don’t have to hang out with them behind a camera to see them! I’m really hoping Beckett and Ollie become best buddies, seeing as they’re a whole two weeks apart! I will never forget photographing his newborn session and stepping out to text Oliver’s birth mother, who was in the early stages of labor. Beckett is so special to us and he doesn’t even know! :)

Annnnnyway, Nate was able to meet up with these guys in downtown Winter Garden for his ~6 month holiday family mini session. They all dressed so, so well and look like they belong in a Hallmark Christmas movie!!

Those cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeks! <3

HOW DAPPER IS THIS FAMILY.

Jessica, you are one stunning momma!!

KEEPING IT REAL, YOU GUYS. A++++ to daddy Bligh!!

The L Family : Orlando Lifestyle Newborn Session Photographer

Oh, these faces. <3

We’ve now photographed Jess and Bligh’s engagement session, wedding day, maternity session, and now newborn session!!! This was one I’ll really, truly, honestly never forget because we were on baby watch for Oliver Hobbes!!! (I know, I should probably get around to blogging about our newest family member soon, but for now, I have too big of a photography backlog!) Throughout their whole session, I was nervously texting back and forth with our birth mother and waiting for THE call, which ended up coming just two days later!!

It was so surreal meeting baby Beckett for a few reasons : 1-  Anytime our couples let us photograph this huge milestone, my heart grows three sizes. 2- I found myself praying during our shoot that our adoption works out so our babies would only be a week apart and could be besties and I could always tell Beckett that I was a ball of nerves waiting for Ollie when we first met! :) 3- THAT HAIR. YOU GUYS, THAT HAIR. <3 <3 <3

We did their shoot in my favorite place to do newborn sessions- Home. <3

I’m convinced that Beckett isn’t just Bligh’s child, but his actual clone! :)

Baby Beckett, we had so much fun meeting you and can’t wait for our first play date!! <3

Taylor + Michael + Dylan + Andersen : Orlando Family Session

April 18, 2017 by Jensey Leave a Comment

Once upon a time, we photographed Taylor and Michael’s engagement session on Michael’s family’s property, their wedding in the Bahamas (!!!!) and then their first family session when their oldest, Dylan arrived. Then we photographed them in Winter Garden when that baby turned into a spirited lil’ girl, and now when that spirited lil’ girl became a big sister. <3

Our “Root Lifers” are the heart and soul of why we do what we do, and why, somehow, we’re 11 years into a career we adore.

I’m so excited to share this sweet family session with you, which happens to take place on their family property, where we photographed their engagement session forever ago! :)

Their session started with their girls in adorable red dresses, but *spoiler alert*, that didn’t last long! ;)

Dylan decided the shoot was much more suited for a My Little Pony dress, and I can’t say I disagreed! ;)

So. Many. Favorites. Also, Dylan is a modern-day Pippi Longstocking and I’m obsessed. :)

Caaaaaan we talk about Andersen’s baby blues?!

You can tell these girls haaaaate their momma! ;)

We met sweet Riley years ago at their engagement session and were lucky enough to meet again just before she passed. I love these photos of Taylor with her best girl. <3

Apart from the photos above, I think this one was my favorite. <3

… Or this one.

… Or these. :)

Taylor, Michael, Dylan, and Andersen, I always leave our shoots with my cheeks sore from smiling. We can’t wait til next time! :)
