Amelia + Schuyler : Downtown St. Augustine Engagement Session

March 17, 2019 by Jensey Leave a Comment

It happened.

My baby sister is engaged. <3

I knew this day would come but I never knew the amount of love and joy I’d feel for her! This is my little sister; the kid my brother taped up in a box and convinced he was going to send her to Abu Dhabi, a la Garfield. The little girl whose hands and feet we’d hold and pretend to throw out the 2nd story window. Before you start feeling sorry for her, just know the bullying went both ways- I am, after all, a middle sister! ;)

We looked forward to mom’s Tuesday / Thursday shifts at the Disney Store every summer. Ah, sweet un-supervision! Would today be the day we convince Amelia she’s adopted? Would they lock me out of the house for two hours? The possibilities were endless!

But here she is, my baby sister, about to be a bride! We took their engagement photos around downtown St. Augustine where this fall, they’ll become husband and wife. And I’ll be standing by her side, eyes welling with tears, and deciding at what point during the reception do we tape her up in a box. <3

Katie + Ronnie : Orlando Wedding at Mystic Dunes

March 13, 2019 by Jensey 1 Comment

Katie and Ronnie were married this month at Mystic Dunes- This venue is so special to us because we photographed our third wedding ever there!

It was crazy to see how much the place has changed and trees have matured and buildings have sprouted- Who knew so much could change in 13 years?! Even more special than the venue was our couple, Katie and Ronnie. <3

Katie is the daughter of Jamie, the sweetest man on the planet who happens to be an unofficial co-worker of ours when we photograph Disney weddings! Jamie can often be seen hanging out with celebrity wedding guests, escorting Cinderella’s coach (sometimes in the pouring rain!), but always, always with a huge smile to greet you. When Jamie mentioned his daughter was engaged, we couldn’t help but mention we’d love to be a part of it, but didn’t expect it to go further than that with all the photographers he knows! It was an absolute honor to be chosen to document this day and meet Jamie’s family and fall in love with the whole group. <3

Katie and Ronnie are extra special to me because they’re part of my extended Fantasyland family! I haven’t worked there since college, but working there is kind of like being in a sorority- I always feel a connection to those who also endure Dumbo on July 4th or stroller parking on New Year’s Eve. We’re just missing the secret handshake! We spent a few minutes swapping names to see who we knew in common and it all just added to the magic of the day. :)

I’m *so* excited to share these preview photos- Katie and Ronnie, I hope you and your families love these as much as we loved taking them!!

And thank you to our awesome vendor team!! <3
Venue : Mystic Dunes Resort and Golf Club
Officiant : Kevin Knox
Floral : Kissimmee Florist
DJ and Photo booth : Event Concepts
Cake : Party Flavors
Guitarist : Eric Lesko
Ronnie, the pocket-square folding master!
Love this one of Jamie seeing his daughter as a bride for the first time! :)
This is Taylor, the bride’s neice! Katie was the flower girl in Taylor’s parents’ wedding and rang this bell as she walked down the aisle. Katie had secretly saved the bell and passed it on to Taylor for the ceremony. Isn’t that the sweetest?!
Let’s all make believe the bugs are pixie dust here, ok?! <3
Andrew, another favorite at Disney! We loved loved meeting their sweet families! :)
Can you name this Disney song? ;)
Katie and Ronnie, thank you for having us!! Give Disneyland our love!! <3

2018 San Francisco Trip!

March 10, 2019 by Jensey 1 Comment

It’s our birthweek!!! What!!! Nate and I were born one year and 5 days apart, so we look forward to “birthweek” celebration all year round! :)

I wanted to blog something fun this week, so I thought I’d write about our favorite vacation last year!

Before Ollie, I was *determined* to do a monthly personal post about him and what we’ve been up to and well… We are 22 months into parenthood and I don’t even think I blogged about his birth. Instead of starting from the beginning and trying to somehow catch up, I’m just gonna jump right in. :) Last August, work brought us to San Francisco! This also meant we got to do a road trip with Ollie’s bestie from there to Disneyland for his first friend vacation! :)

This was Ollie’s 2nd trip out to California, and boy, flying with a 15 month old couldn’t have been more different than flying with a 4 month old!! I told Nate that for the rest of my life, any flight without a squirmy toddler will forever feel like I’m flying first class, lol! :) He really did well and only lost it a couple of times, but was I glad we were road tripping down to Anaheim and not having to make another flight!

We started our trip at my personal Disneyland, my favorite place in the world- My Aunt Cami’s home. <3 I think, no.. I *know* he loved it there more than Disneyland!

We had lunch with my godmother! :)

We also took Ollie to my mom’s childhood home. So many memories playing on this street! <3

He met some new sea lion friends…

And saw an invisible bridge! <3

My cousins are incredibly talented photographers (If you got our holiday card, you know this!) Even just sitting across from them at dinner meant we got really good photos of Ollie! :) He loved them as much as we did and agrees that California is just too far away- We should start a petition to move Florida.

One thing I never fully internalized before becoming a mom: When people love on your kids, that love feels tenfold to you. Ollie took to these guys right away, and I just love how much they loved on him!! :)

I’m gonna do a whole separate post on the photos they took of us and what they meant to me!

We said goodbye to northern California and drove here to meet up with our friends! Ollie was so surprised to see his bestie! <3

Stopped to see some freaky elephant seals on the way down!

See that nose?!

Tried taking a cute photo of these two but Ollie was not having it!!

We stopped again at Solvang, California, this adorable little Danish town!

We “booped” each other’s noses! :)

And obviously, we stopped at In-N-Out! But let’s just remember what he looked like last time we were here:
