Kellie + Derek : Dixon Art Gallery Wedding in Memphis, Tennessee

This is our second fall now not living in Tennessee, but our first year not taking a trip back to see the leaves change! It’s hard to plan a yearly trip now since fall is our busiest time of the year, but I’m so thankful we were able to make it back last year for Kellie and Derek’s wedding. This wedding was a favorite of last year, not just because of the gorgeous leaves and the abundance of stunning details all thought up by this creative bride, but also because I’ve known Kellie since I was a senior in high school and she was a freshman. :)

In high school, I took French 1-3, but senior year I decided to take Spanish 1 just for kicks. I was the only senior in a class of freshman, but the girls I met in that class made it one of my favorite classes I ever took! This is now the second wedding we’ve photographed with a bride that was in that Spanish 1 class with me, and we’ll be photographing our 3rd this December. So crazy and so incredibly wonderful!! This was our second wedding at the Dixon Art Gallery in Memphis and I’m still swooning over this location.

Kellie, I wish we could repeat your gorgeous wedding every week. Thank you so much for bringing me home. :)

This dresser greeted their guests and held the programs for the wedding- How cool is that? Also, Kellie designed and made her own letterpress invitations and programs.

Kathy + Jeff : Orlando Florida Wedding Preview

The days leading up to a wedding, Nate and I are watching our weather apps like hawks. There are months in Florida during hurricane season that you really never know until hours before whether or not rain will hit, but we’re willing it off with all our might! The hourly forecast for Kathy and Jeff’s ceremony time was all over the board, but we crossed our fingers, hoped for the best, and took as many pre-ceremony photos we could juuuuuuust in case… I’ve never been more thankful for a first look couple!

Kathy wanted their parents and bridal party to quietly watch their first look from the groomsmen balcony- So sweet. <3

The before…

… And the after! In nearly 10 years of weddings, this was our first ceremony in the pouring rain. I’m a strong believer in rain bringing luck to couples on their wedding day, so I think these two are set for life! :)

Kathy and Jeff, thank you for smiling through the storm! It couldn’t have happened to a better, more easy going couple! We love y’all and can’t wait to share more soon. :)

Sarah + Dom : Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church Wedding in Indialantic, FL Preview

It feels like just yesterday we photographed Sarah Kroger swingin’ on a tire swing for her album shoot in Nashville, and now she’s MARRIED! This gorgeous little sister of Nate’s gorgeous college best friend married the sweetest man in Melbourne this month. The day was so packed with love for this amazing couple, topped only by their love for each other, topped only by their mutual love for God. I’m excited to share more sweet moments from the day, including but not limited to hourly love notes from the groom to his bride. I mean… <3

Lindsey + Grayson + Trennen : Germantown, Tennessee Family Portrait Session

Any session in my hometown is my favorite, and this one was no exception.

I’ve known Lindsey since we were kids, and this session took place in the woods behind her parents’s house… The same woods I grew up exploring when I was young. We’ve photographed Grayson since she was a baby, and it’s so fun to see her in her new role as awesome big sister! This was our first time meeting Trennen, the baby with the biggest smile you’ve ever seen. Trennen was born with spina bifida, and following Lindsey on Facebook has become one of my favorite things to see how this brave little boy is progressing every day (Also, there is no laugh as pure and joyful as Trennen’s!! Keep posting those videos!!) Lindsey, you are truly super mom, and it was such an honor to capture your sweet family again. :)
