Jena + Scott : Disney Cruise Line Wedding Part II

March 31, 2022 by Jensey Leave a Comment

And now we’re on to part TWO!! Buckle up, buttercups! <3

Jena and Scott had such personal touches throughout their wedding day. Like this one: they share a wedding anniversary with Pixar’s anniversary (February 3rd), so they had a box of Pixar postcards in lieu of a guestbook for their guests to sign and leave in their little Carl and Ellie mailbox!

Another thing they did was hide these little Easter eggs around their reception for their guests to find and win prizes. :)

In all our years of photographing weddings, I can’t remember a time when every few minutes, a cast member got on the mic asking guests to return unused glasses to the bar. That’s right, Jena and Scott’s guests partied so hard that the bar ran out of glasses!!!

Just a quick nap later and we were off to sunset portraits around the ship <3

“I’m king of the woooooooorld!”

Notice the horizontal palm fronds! ;)

Sooooooooooooooo windy but so, soooooooooo worth it!!!! <3

“This sh*t is cabanas – C A B A N A S!” – Scott. I will always think of you when we see this sign, Scott!

That “just married” feeling! <3

And the best way to end their wedding adventure- top deck viewing of the Superbowl!! <3

Scott and Jena, we can’t thank you enough for bringing us on board!! So excited for all the adventures to come!! <3

THE ROOTS TAKE ON THE DISNEY DREAM!!

June 24, 2019 by Jensey 2 Comments

You may have seen a few of my favorite photos in this post when we shared our Toddler’s Guide to the Disney Cruise Line!

If you liked that post, you should keep reading, because this one has moooore photos! And if you didn’t like it there might be something wrong with you. Because LOOK AT THIS TINY PIRATE!

We got to go on our first family cruise when Nate and I photographed Katrina and Josh’s wedding!

While we photographed the wedding, Ollie was moving in to their Small World Nursery and he did. not. want. to. leave!!! But first things first- Boarding the ship!

Anyone who’s done a Disney Cruise knows how they greet you on the ship and this was my first time pushing a stroller through the clapping and waving Mickey hands and it made me so emotional! But imagine our surprise when we had a team of the happiest friends skipping and running towards us to greet us- The Switzerfilm team was also on board to shoot the wedding and heard our names being announced and it was the most fun start to the trip!

Ollie saw Joe’s captain hat and immediately requested to wear it. Oliver can be a tough toddler to befriend, but share a hat and bam! Best friends!

This poor kid finally gets a grasp on what a boat is and then he’s introduced to cruise ships! He boarded knowing what a boat was and left thinking every building was a boat, lol!

Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaavorite. Also only as a photo memory because in person I was terrified every time he’d touch the railing that it would break and he would fall in because I’m THAT mom.

I cannot. <3

A highlight of the trip was picking Ollie up from the Small World daycare on pirate night and bringing home a reeeeeal baby pirate!!!!

THOSE. CURLS. MY. HEART. <3

My whole entire heart in one photo! Look at how cute my people are!!

“He’ll LOVE the splash pad,” they said.

HATED. IT.

The one part that he liked until he slipped on a wet tile and cried for the next 30 minutes. :/

MORNING OLLIE IS THE BEST OLLIE.

Just kidding! FIST BUMPING OLLIE IS THE BEST OLLIE!

Something tells me he’s not gonna like these guys any more on the next cruise, but at least I’ll be putting him in a cute matching outfit to cuten up those tears! ;)

If you read the Toddler Guide, you know he constantly thought this photo was Nate!!!!

Look at that blue water!!! This is what I try to focus on when I’m fighting my panic about my PRIDE AND JOY LEANING UP ON GLASS SO HIGH UP OMGOMGOMG.

Every Ollie is the best Ollie. <3

Our feelings about the cruise being over! This one was so different than relaxing cruises past- But so, so, so much fuller. Let’s see how the next one goes now that he’s learned to say “No.” <3

A Toddler’s Guide to the Disney Cruise Line

March 30, 2019 by Jensey 8 Comments

We recently took Ollie on his first Disney Cruise, and he loooooved it. Like most of our Disney days, having a toddler means adjusting our usual plans for whatever he wants to do, and this trip was no different!

Cruising with a toddler can be stressful, so I thought I’d share Ollie’s top 10 favorite things about our trip!

  1. SMALL WORLD NURSERY. This was the biggest hit and despite the fact that I was on the verge of tears dropping him off (this was our first random drop-off with people we didn’t know), HE was in tears after picking him up! Every time we’d walk by the nursery the rest of our trip, he’d race to the door and bang for them to let him in to play with the toys! Ollie was absolutely in heaven. He was given snacks and apple juice every hour and they fed him TWO lunches and I’m pretty sure it’s his favorite place in the whole entire world. Oh, when we picked him up after our wedding on the ship’s pirate night, THIS FACE was greeting us on pick up and I died. Right there. <3

2. MICKEY WAFFLES. And this boy loves a good buffet, so Cabana’s is tied for 2nd here! :)

3. THESE LOBBY STEPS. Another best was killing about an hour just climbing up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down.

4. When we let him *leave* the splash pad. Everyone told us he’d love this amazing Finding Nemo splash pad but he cried the entire 15 minutes we “made” him play there!

5. Pepe the King Prawn Muppet has a hidden door on the ship!! Ollie found it and was ecstatic to find vacation photos of his “Babies!”

6. Running down every hallway and fist bumping any cast member or day guest who would let him!!

7. Did y’all know there’s a giant mural of Nate on the Disney Cruise Line?! Me neither, but Ollie was *convinced* this was his father and pointed, smiled, shrieked, and yelled “DADA!” every time we walked by, lol! :)

8. THIS rope. NOT the one next to it, only THIS one. Killed about 20 minutes right here!

9. Did you know every stateroom comes with this electronic hidden treasure chest?! This little safe kept Ollie occupied while we got ready every morning! He wasn’t able to crack the code this time, but I have faith he can do it on our next cruise! :)

10. Last but certainly not least, the little pirate Mickey tattoo he was given from the Small World Nursery! He just loved seeing “MEME!” every time he looked down at his arm, and we’d constantly see him just smiling and petting his arm, lol.

We really had a wonderful first family cruise and I *cannot* wait for our next one!! :)
