“When Charlie and Zach were in their freshman year of high school, their English teacher assigned their class to write letters to their future self that he would give them when they graduated. He encouraged them to write about their current lives, who their friends were, their favorite class, and who they had a crush on. They both did the assignment and moved on, not dwelling too much on it for the next few years, until their graduation when they got their letters back. Four years later, when Zach opened his letter he was surprised to find that he wrote ‘I like Charlie because she and I have quite a bit in common and she is really cute.’ The funniest part was that they only started dating four months before he opened his letter. Because Charlie and Zach’s senior year of high school was overshadowed by concerns from the pandemic, the plans for their prom were uncertain and it was announced with short notice. Charlie wanted a date for prom, and she thought Zach was really cute (and she saw that he was making his own Mandalorian armor, which was super cool). She was extremely nervous to reach out to him, but when she did they scheduled a date, and a week later they were planning to go to prom together. They dated for the rest of their senior year and have been long-distance ever since.”
