Rebecca + Joe : First Home Love
You may remember Rebecca and Joe (or Becky and Joey <3), from their in-park engagement session we photographed years ago. You can read the whole story here, but Rebecca got us special permission to shoot in Epcot before park opening and the Magic Kingdom, and it was the last in-park session we had before outside photographers were banned from shooting in the parks for a few years. (But we’re allowed again, huzzah! You can read more about that here.)
Nate and I first met Rebecca when she was the event coordinator for a rainy dessert party we were shooting years ago. Rebecca recognized us and introduced herself as a blog stalker, and we’ve been friends ever since! I’ve heard of people who light up a room just by being in it, and Rebecca is totally that person. Seriously- the lights in a room she enters increase by at least 30%. Rebecca’s husband Joe is sweet and funny and you should click here to follow him on Twitter! We don’t see them nearly as much as we’d like to, they are two of the kindest people I’ve ever known and I’m always leaving our visits wanting more time with them!
On our last dinner date with them, Rebecca and Joe let us know they were doing the “m” word. I know we *technically* moved out of Orlando a few years ago, but we’re back so much that it doesn’t count, ok? Anyway, Rebecca and Joe were moving back to Rebecca’s home state of Texas (stupid Texas), and they asked us to take some photos of them around their first home before they had to box up and take things off walls.
It was my secret plan to do so well taking these photos that they’d never want to leave home!
We set this shot up…
… But then Rebecca let us know this is really how their evenings are. ;)
The two that make me tear up: On the left is their master bedroom window where Joe proposed to Rebecca after they bought their first home (after watching Wishes from that window- Swoooon!), and on the right- Rebecca told me she wanted some photos of them dancing in the kitchen, which is where they’d practice their first dance. *sigh.*
Rebecca and Joe, Texas is the luckiest. We love you both and hope to see you again soon. :)
Maevy + Carter : Nashville Family Session in Centennial Park
Remember yesterday how I told you about my love for Robyn in her engagement session post? Well, the love fest for this sweet family continues, with a family session we photographed in Centennial Park here in Nashville. This is Robyn’s beautiful sister Amy’s family.
Even though I’m pretty sure I only remember meeting Amy a couple times in high school, I’ve been a blog stalker of hers for a few years now. Amy writes one of my favorite blogs I follow called “March Forth with Maevy.” Maevy is Amy’s vivacious four year old, and Amy’s blog posts are all written to her. I would LOVE to have something like this to look back on as an adult! I followed Amy’s blog in my reader for a while, but it wasn’t until she wrote about Maevy’s first time watching The Wizard of Oz that I was truly hooked. I’ve become such a Maevy fan that I’m pretty sure when we photographed Robyn and Jake’s engagement session around Nashville, I spent more time asking about Amy’s family than them!
My favorite Maevy posts in no particular order, which you can read by clicking the descriptions below :
– The time she watched The Wizard of Oz and cried real tears, constantly worried about Toto.
– The time Maevy (correctly) insisted Tink was a light, and Jasmine shouldn’t show her tummy.
– The time Amy and Ryan told Maevy she was going to be a big sister.
– So Call Me Maevy!
A little over a year ago, Maevy became a big sister to the equally adorable Carter (Not to leave little Carter in the dust- I only recently realized I hadn’t been following along with Catching Carter, Amy’s blog for all things Carter!)
Enough fawning over these cute kiddos- On to the photos! First off, probably my favorite family portrait of the year.
Carter following a trail of Cheerios, a la E.T. :)
Too. Much. Cute.
Nate loved having someone to climb trees with on a photo shoot! Thank you, Maevy. :)
:)
Maevy wowed us with her kitten impression (left) before letting me know with one look that it was time for a potty break. ;)
Maevy, Carter, Amy, and Ryan, thank you for the fun time! We can’t wait to see y’all this fall! :)
