The many adventures of a cute husband and wife photography team!
Holly and Megan met in college but quickly realized there was something more there. A house, a couple kittens, and oh, 18 years later, they reached out to us about photographing their wedding! Megan surprised Holly with a proposal on a private fireworks cruise a around Bay Lake and the Seven Seas Lagoon. Covid meant their original wedding date and plans had to shift a bit, but as we’ve learned the past two years, love is *very* patient and I think their day ended up just the way it was meant to be. <3
Following the theme of delayed timelines and backup plans for their wedding, Holly and Megan’s ceremony got moved from an outdoor location at the Polynesian to a covered patio at the Grand Floridian. It was an emotional call to make in the moment, but we were lucky enough to still get to take some portraits where the wedding would have been. And the rain backup meant they got to add another photo location, monorails and all!
Holly’s late mother was nearby all day with this sweet tribute in her bridal clutch. <3
They are both incredibly close with their brothers, so it was only right to have a special first look with them, too. <3
Their floral was so unique!! <3
I love when couples do a “ring warming” ceremony and pass them around for family and friends to hold and think good thoughts. Our pal Melissa at Disney Weddings made sure to help out the ring bearer! <3
PERFECT cake topper when you’re getting married after two decades of being together! :)
Holly and Megan got engaged while watching this fireworks show, so it was extra special to watch it again on their wedding night. <3
One of our most favorite venues- the Napa Room at California Grill <3
Holly and Megan, it was an absolute honor being a small part of your day!!! <3
If you’re a loyal blog reader, you *may* recognize Alexis and Miranda from their Disney Springs engagement session with Nate last year! Remember this cute moment?!
Anyway, since editing those photos, I’ve been so excited to photograph their wedding daaaaay! And it finally came and I cannot wait to share photos. Here we gooooo! :)
The girls got ready in the Grand Floridian Villas. Alexis and Miranda had their hair and makeup done together, but split up when it came time to get dressed!
I spy with my little eye… <3
One shoe from each bride. ;)
Alexis requested her dress be photographed with the Mary Poppins fountain in their lobby and I was mooooore than happy to oblige! <3
First look time!!! As you’ll soon find out, their day was full of rain and tornado warnings (no.. seriously!) but I’m so happy we got a break from the sprinkles for this moment! :)
Then they did separate first looks with their fathers, and this one of Alexis with her dad just makes my eyes well up immediately!
And then THE moment I’ll never forget. Ever. The photos you see below will forever be burned into my wedding memories as long as I live.
It all started out well enough… We got word that awful weather was on its way so we had cut portraits shorts and get our brides in Cinderella’s Coach *immediately.* And we did…
Hooray! What a happy, special time! And then….
… Y’all, it was a MONSOON. I’ve never seen anything like it! As soon as their bums hit that velvet seat, the skies opened up and this happened! I’m so happy they had umbrellas to block the openings from sideways rain! But I mean is it just me or is it still a little magical?! <3
That poor driver!!
Don’t worry, Alexis and Miranda made it safe and sound to their ceremony at the Wedding Pavilion! :)
Alexis and Miranda’s officiant was Renee from A Lovely Ceremony, which meant their ceremony was unique! Instead of a unity candle, they opted to have a lock ceremony! An iron tree wall hanging sat on an easel with a lock on it. The lock is a one-time use lock with no key to symbolize the commitment they made. :)
Bare feet with their aisle runner! <3
Getting a first look of their empty reception hall! The American Adventure Rotunda is truly one of my favorite venues!
Alexis’s favorite moment from their wedding day- A practice first dance before their guests arrived. :)
Look at those loving parents watching on! <3 <3
The rain took another break to let us shoot some fireworks photos!!
Love this one right before their bouquet toss. :)
THE BEST WAY TO END A WEDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Alexis and Miranda, thank you for having us for your dreamy rainy luck-filled wedding!! We love y’all!! :)
