Virginia + Lindsey : Downtown Memphis Wedding Preview

If you’ve been following our blog the past four years, you’d know that even though we live in Nashville, it’s rare that we get to photograph weddings in our home state! Imagine our surprise when our sweet Orlando couple Emily and Stephen moved to Memphis and referred us to new friends Virginia and Lindsey! I always love a reason to visit where I grew up, even if it’s a whirlwind 30 hour trip for a wedding! :)

Virginia began her wedding day getting ready at The Peabody Memphis, my faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaavorite favorite. :)

We’ve had a lucky stream of ADORABLE ring bearers, and Eli did not disappoint. This is him proudly showing Nate his new tattoo of Nigel, Virginia and Lindsey’s dog, made by her amazing bridesmaid Hailey! :)

Favorite. I cannot believe my “grown up job” gives me an excuse to hang out on The Peabody rooftop with beautiful people!

Just two minutes for photos before the sky opens up on them? Check and mark! Their party continued at the Center for Southern Folklore with Amy Miller Weddings & Events on hand to make sure everything was perfect! :)

Robyn + Jake : Our Lady of Perpetual Help Ceremony + Ridgeway Country Club Reception in Germantown, Tennessee

I find the older I get, the pickier I get about people around me. Wait- That sounds sort of awful, let me start over. You know when you love someone so much that no matter who they choose to spend their lives with, that person can never quite match up to your love and admiration of your friend? And it’s not that you don’t like who they choose to marry, it’s just that you adore your friend so very much that no one could ever quite match up?

Well, Robyn’s wedding was extra special for me, because the second I met Jake, he reminded me so much of Nate and I was immediately as in love with him as I am with Robyn. These two truly have something special and seem to share that “thing” Nate and I have- I really look forward to seeing a long, happy happy happy marriage between these two kids. :)

Robyn and Jake were married at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in my hometown, Germantown, TN!

Right after Robyn and Jake’s first look, we drove them to Oaklawn Gardens for some portraits. There’s a very cool feeling about photographing weddings where I grew up- Here’s to many more Memphis shoots! :)

Yeah, pretty much could have shot here all day. :)

Then it was off to Ridgeway Country Club for their reception! :)

Their first dance was to Harry Connick Jr.’s “It Had to be You.” <3

Sarah + Nick : Memphis Botanic Gardens Engagement Session

I’m so excited to share this preview today, because engagement sessions are extra special when they include old friends.

I’ve known Sarah since the ripe age of seven, and I still see that 7-year-old face when she smiles. :)

We photographed Sarah and her handsome Nick around the Memphis Botanic Gardens. While most of the property was dead, we lucked out with this gorgeous field of daffodils! :)
