Devon + Dan : Greenville, SC Wedding at The Avenue

November 13, 2019 by Jensey Leave a Comment

To understand the great we love we have for this sweet family, you’d need to first visit Devon’s sisters’ weddings:

Erin and Mark in Rose Valley, PA
Kate and Anthony in Greenville, SC

Our business is only a business because of our word-of-mouth referrals. Y’all have sent us to your best friends and complete strangers and we’re forever grateful for it! The honor of being a wedding photographer is brought back tenfold when families keep us around- This was our *third* wedding for these siblings (and there maaaaay be a 4th just around the corner- *cough* Jason! *cough*)

Erin was our first bride of this favorite family- I loved them all so much immediately I even jumped in a photo with these sisters when I first met them! (I don’t think I’ve *ever* done that, lol!) While we didn’t get a chance to take it again on Kate’s wedding day, we did do it on Devon’s!

(Just ignore my sleepy eyes- I didn’t have a sleep-talking two year old in my hotel room the night before Erin’s wedding!)

Before I continue, here are links to this amazing vendor team! We love doing weddings out of state and meeting new “friendors,” but it’s incredibly depressing when we find a vendor we love so much we wish we could work with them back home! If you live in South Carolina (or are open to a florist traveling to your wedding!), you’ll find no one greater than Anna Stouffer of Urban Petals. I love her so much, and not *just* because Devon’s mother is a key part of her incredible team!!

Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaavorite. <3

There *may* have been a *minor* emergency the morning of Devon’s wedding regarding her bustle never being put in. Thanks to the quickest alterations you can imagine, the problem was fixed in maybe 30 minutes and Devon was nothing but calm and grace through the whole dilemma. <3

First look time in front of St. Mary’s Catholic Church! <3

Love this look on Dan’s face! :)

Devon, you were stunning!!!!

Greenville churches seem to have pretty strict photography policies, but I love the little we were able to capture! <3

Root Lifers portraits <3 <3

I should also say here that leading up to Devon’s wedding day, we were bracing for a 100% chance of rain headed our way. We were fresh off the heels of Claudia and Paul’s tropical storm wedding, so when the rain chances cleared and we were instead given a perfect temperature with overcast skies, we couldn’t have been happier!!

We could shoot in downtown Greenville allllll day! <3

Another favorite. <3

Palermo family, thank you for making us yours!! We love you more than words can say- Please come visit Orlando soon!!! :)

Kate + Anthony : Cliffs at Glassy Chapel Wedding in Greenville, SC

June 8, 2018 by Jensey 1 Comment

To say we were excited for Kate and Anthony’s wedding would be an understatement. Not only are they a part of a favorite Root Lifer family, but this photo was from their engagement session and it was maybe my favorite photo I’ve ever taken!

And today is an extra special day to blog these guys, because 5 years ago today, we photographed her sister’s wedding! :) Throwback photo time to my favorite siblings!

Kate and Anthony were married in Greenville, SC, and Kate got ready in her parents’ gorgeous home. I looooove getting ready photos at home, but especially when that home has huge windows, gorgeous views, and a million backdrop opportunities. :)

Latia of Cotton Rouge and Company did such a great job with Kate’s hair and makeup! :)

Nate’s favorite part of wedding photos at home? When the family dog makes their appearance! :)

2018 is officially the year I’ve fallen in love with illusion straps on wedding dresses! I was so enamored with Kate’s dress- Watters Azriel! <3

Kate’s floral was done by Urban Petals, a company I wish would move down here. Not only was their floral a true work of art, but Kate’s sweet mom works with them. And I loved the owner, Anna- My only complaint was I didn’t get much time to visit with her! :)

I honestly don’t know if I love this view or these girls more. <3

Before we knew it, it was off to meet Anthony at the Cliffs at Glassy Chapel, one of our faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaavorite wedding venues, for their first look!

This photo by Nate is one of my favorites. <3

Kaaaaaate! You made a stunning bride! :)

Next favorite! :)

Nate’s view on the left, mine on the right. :)

Kate walked down the aisle to “When You Wish Upon a Star.” <3

Our last wedding at the Cliffs involved a snoring pug ring bearer, and this one, a yawning one, lol. :)

We made sure to grab some photos of Kate’s siblings with their significant others. You know.. To use in blog posts when THEY get married. ;)

Next it was down the mountain and off to The Cabin at The Cliffs at Mountain Park for their cozy reception. <3

I looooooved this venue for a wedding reception. The family style tables, the fireplace.. They even had games for everyone to play outside and s’mores by the firepit! :)

First dance to “You Matter to Me” from Waitress on Broadway. :)

Anthony, this is my favorite photo of you! Pure bliss. :)

Nate’s view followed by mine for their sparkler exit. <3

Last but not least, our Root selfie with both Root couples. <3 Kate and Anthony, where do I even begin?! Thank you for bringing us up for your wedding!! And Palermo family, thank you for loving us like your own. We so hope to see y’all again soon!!!!

Jessie + Nicholas : Wedding Part 1

September 6, 2010 by Jensey 33 Comments

Nick was one of my first friends in Florida. I met him on a slow day at the Magic Kingdom when the two of us were working at Dumbo the Flying Elephant. :) I made us become fast friends- You see, after my Disney College Program internship ended, all of the other Fantasyland interns went back home when their program was done. Basically, all of my best friends, the people who I’d lived and worked with for the past 8 months, left Florida. Because my family moved to Celebration right when my College Program was over, I was put on as part time and kept my job at the Magic Kingdom. I was feeling so depressed and lonely one day in August, when I bumped into Nick backstage, gave him my number, and said something along the lines of, “Look. I know this is completely lame, but I really, really need a friend.”

After that, Nick became one of the best friends I’ve ever had. This is us from a Fantasyland party back in ’04.

I really do believe meeting Nick was completely and totally meant to be. How do I know this? Because the next year on Nick’s birthday, I was introduced to his other best friend- A past roommate from UCF, Nathanial Root (*cue angels singing Hallelujah*).  I wasn’t looking for love the night we met, but seriously, I experienced my first and last “love at first sight” moment when I met this kid. :)

Nick took this photo of us in his room the night we met. :) Who woulda ever thought?!

Through the years, Nate and I watched Nick meet the wrong girl, after wrong girl…

… Until he finally met the right one- Jessie! :) Nate and I started seeing less of Nick when we started dating, and then that dropped even more after he started seeing Jessie, but these two truly are family to us, and being able to give them the gift of wedding photography meant the world to me. :)

Jessie has always been one of the most gorgeous girls I’ve ever met, but she was just glowing on her wedding day. :)

Why don’t all wedding gowns have pockets?!

Most beautiful siblings EVER.

Nick and Jessie’s reception was held in this amazing venue- The Poinsett Club of Greenville, South Carolina. It was gorgeous!

Most handsome groomsman EVER!

FAVORITE! <3

Poor Nate doubled as groomsman and my assistant. It was quite the day!

Here’s the kicker- Our best friend gets married in the one church we’ve ever shot in that didn’t allow photography during the ceremony. None. I was allowed to shoot Jessie going down the aisle, the kiss, and the recessional. How horrible is that?! I wasn’t even allowed to go sit in a pew to watch the ceremony! :(

Head over to Part Two! :)
