Lindsey + Eric = Liam

December 6, 2011 by Jensey 12 Comments

According to Lindsey, when she found out she was pregnant with Liam, the first thing she did was write us to schedule their family session! She then planned Liam’s first trip to Walt Disney World around our availability. :)

While I’d never believe it coming from anyone else, I can honestly say I believe Lindsey whole-heartedly. After all, this is our bride who covered her walls in our wedding photos (even photos of their wedding food in their dining room!), and when she ran out of wall space, she had a throw made out of her favorite portrait. I know other photographers insist that they have the best couples, but I’m pretty sure that this is proof that we get the trophy for that one. A big, plastic, gold-painted trophy with a camera on top, middle-school-soccer-style. :)

She went on to tell us that she would talk to Liam in her belly, telling him about the photos we’d be taking of him someday and that he’d darn-well better behave. She gushed about how excited she was for his “Root Photography Blog debut.” Lindsey’s one of the funniest people I’ve ever met, and I have no doubt that if we lived in the same city, I’d be her Gail and she’d be my Oprah. I could listen to her hilarious adventures in childbirth and parenting stories for hours. You never know what’s gonna come out of her mouth next, like when during breakfast after our session, she admitted that she “Never really cared for the name Eric.” This came as a total surprise to her husband, Eric, and nearly made me spew milk out of my nose. I love my Lindsey. :)

Meet one of the cutest boys in the world, Liam!

Lindsey, you’re a gorgeous momma.

Eric is the cutest Dad- There’s so much of him in Liam! :)

It was fun doing a Celebration family session and revisiting our old “backyard” in Celebration.

One of my favorites!

Those legs! :)

It’s hard work being a model! We took this as a cue to take 5 and grab a bite to eat before finishing. :)

We had to commemorate his first trip to Walt Disney World!

Loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove! :)

FAVORITE. This one’s being framed in our next home. :) Lindsey, Eric, and Liam, we can’t wait to see you next September!

Photo of the Week

December 5, 2011 by Jensey 1 Comment

Two years ago today, we were in the US Virgin Islands for Julie and Christopher’s wedding. This week, we’re headed to the Bahamas for Taylor and Michael’s big day. If it’s half as wonderful as Julie and Christopher’s wedding, it’s gonna be an amazing trip. :)

Andrea + Brian = Alyssa

November 29, 2011 by Jensey Leave a Comment

Andrea asked her friends and family to chip in for a family session with us for her birthday, and I was so honored, flattered, and happy to catch up with one of our favorite Root brides. Andrea is so sweet it’s even her job- She owns the charming Andrea’s Cakes, and we know first hand, her creations are divine!

It’s impossible to be around Andrea and not smile, and her and Brian’s little girl was just as cute as we imagined.

Alyssa loved leading the way. :)

So much love!

I can’t wait for my Mom to stumble on this photo, because I looked just like this as a baby.

Oh, hello!

Little bit of trivia- There is actually a family of four in this photo! When we arrived at the session, Andrea shared the exciting news that they’re expecting another munchkin, and as I found out on Facebook today, it’s a boy! :)

Andrea and Brian, we love you guys! So happy to see you grow! :)

Lauren + Keith : Engagement

November 28, 2011 by Jensey 6 Comments

I have a confession to make: My entire high school existence, I had no bigger dreams in life than to attend the University of Central Florida and work at Walt Disney World. In fact, my high school locker was lined with postcards from WDW, and front and center was a photo of the big UCF fountain with palm trees in the distance.

I was determined to make my dream come true! Of course, real life set in quick for this Tennessee girl, and somewhere between being wait listed at UCF, then being accepted for summer admission, and Dad insisting since I was going to school out of state I couldn’t have a car, the sound of The University of Tennessee calling my name kept getting louder and louder. I mean… In all of my UCF daydreams, I was working at Disney on the weekends while going to a palm tree-lined campus, not just… Going to classes. So no car meant no Disney, which meant no UCF for me! Of course, I found my own way to make my Disney college dreams come true, but that’s a story for another day. :)

When my little sister’s friend Lauren told us she wanted her engagement session at UCF (coincidentally Nate’s alma mater), we were excited to shoot at a new Orlando location! These are a few of my favorites from their cute session. :)

THE fountain I dreamed of spending long afternoons sitting on the edge and studying:

I loved Lauren’s Anthropologie look. :)

The light was amazing- Morning sessions are quickly becoming my favorite!

Have I mentioned how adorable Lauren is yet?!

They’re both huge Knights fans, so we did some photos outside the stadium despite not being able to get in the gates.

FAVORITE! Lauren “jousting.” Bahaha. :)

I should also say here that until this session, I thought UCF’s mascot was a unicorn, but Nate was quick to correct me that it’s a Pegasus. Bah- Potato, potato! (That saying doesn’t work as well when it’s just typed, I suppose!) Lauren and Keith, we’re so excited for your wedding day- We’ll see you sooooooon! :)
