Kimberly + Mark : Cupcake Truck Engagement Session

November 27, 2012 by Jensey 3 Comments

Kimberly and Mark live in the same condo building as we used to in Celebration, Florida. Their front door is literally two doors down from where we used to check our mail every night! Kimberly’s a wedding photographer, too (check out her website here!), and she’s the proud owner of three small Huck-sized pups. We live such similar lives that I can’t believe we hadn’t met until their engagement session!

Being a photographer, Kimberly put so much work into making her session amazing, including renting a cupcake food truck (Thank you, Yum Yum!!) and coordinating their wardrobe impeccably. This was our first engagement session involving a food truck, and first involving pups in a long time, so Nate and I were pretty much in heaven the whole time. :)

We began their session around downtown Celebration with the three kiddos. :)

I’m not gonna lie… I kinda want a pug to be Huck’s next brother or sister. Look at that face! Those wrinkles! *melts*

I know you’re not supposed to have a favorite kid (or dog), but it doesn’t take long following Kimberly on Instagram to see that Gus Gus is totally her favorite. I mean, just look at the photo on the right! ;)

Though we never met before this session, Kimberly once tweeted at Nate saying she drove by us and saw Nate shooting in a tree. <3

After Celebration time, it was cupcake truck time! While we waited for the truck to come, we had time to shoot in a field Nate and I have been dying to work in for years.

Uh-dorable!

They seriously couldn’t match that truck any better. :)

Kimberly and Mark, thank you for such a fun shoot! See you on a boat soon!!!!!!!!

Choose a Seat, Not a Side

I loved the greeting Emily and Daniel’s guests saw as they arrived to the ceremony site. This is how it should always be! <3

Celia + Drew = Tristyn : Vanderbilt Family Session

November 25, 2012 by Jensey 3 Comments

We photographed Celia and Drew’s engagement session years ago in Florida. Celia and Drew are Nasvhille residents as well now, and I’d secretly been hoping she’d ask us to do a session ever since I saw photos of Tristyn pop up on Facebook! Here are my favorite teaser images from our last family session of the year!

See that drool? Favorite times a thousand. <3

I love this shot Nate grabbed when Tristyn needed a snack break. :) Celia and Drew, thank you for asking us to shoot these! We can’t wait to share more. :)

Root Family 2012

November 21, 2012 by Jensey 3 Comments

Five years ago, I took some family photos on the beach for Nate’s family. At the time this photo was taken, we’d just passed our first year of being in business, the kids were soooo tiny, Nate and I were excited for our upcoming wedding that December, I couldn’t imagine life being any more busy / stressful, and we had four years of dating under our belt.

Now, Root Photography will soon be celebrating its 7th year of business, the kids are HUGE, we’re so happy we canceled the wedding and eloped, I can’t imagine life being any more busy / wonderful, and we have nearly five years of marriage under our belt. I can’t wait to see what the next 5 years bring!<3
