Aside from Valentine’s Day being a wonderful reason to celebrate love, it’s an extra special day to us because this day 8 years ago, our little munchkin came into our lives! Yes, this is Huck’s adoption day- The day that he fell asleep in my arms the second I held him, and proceeded to pee on me as soon as we were in the car on the way home.
I love you, muppet! Our lives wouldn’t be the same without you.<3

Before leaving on our Aulani adventure, Carrie and Patrick wanted us to take a few photos of them around Disney California Adventure’s Buena Vista Street for an anniversary session. We hadn’t actually gotten to see the new additions to DCA since our last visit, and well, I’m in love!
You didn’t actually think Carrie and Patrick would show up to a shoot looking anything less than this, did you? ;)

If you follow Nate and I on Instagram (nathanroot + jenseylove), you may have seen that we had the awesome opportunity to spend a few days in Hawaii last week! We were visiting Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, for Carrie and Patrick’s vow renewal. :)
I’m excited to share some sneak peek photos, but not as excited as I am to share their anniversary session around Disney’s California Adventure tomorrow. Seriously- this is not one to miss! :):)
I thought Carrie’s paper bouquet was so colorful and happy and reminded me of their wedding day!
My favorite part of their vow renewal ceremony was their personal vows- Patrick’s had me all kinds of teary and wanting to make plans for a vow renewal of our own.
Carrie was just as gorgeous as she was five years ago!

We always love catching up with one of our favorite Root Photography families. Little did any of us know at the time, but we weren’t just shooting a family of three here! ;) I can’t wait to meet Liam’s little sister this year! :):)

Proof we don’t really know what to do with kids- Nate “playing” with our 70-200mm lens with Liam and me throwing him sticks to fetch. Like a dog. Eric, Lindsey, and Liam, we can’t wait ’til next time!!!!!
