Cooking Class Fun
If you’re a loyal blog reader, the names Lisa and Jeffrey should ring a bell. They’re our very best friends who also happen to be in the wedding “industry” (I always cringe at saying that, but I don’t know what else to call it!) Oh, and we also photographed their elopement in Central Park. Annnnnd we spend Thanksgiving together. Remember now? Good.
Lisa is one of those friends who you’re sort of always waiting to someday get her own reality show. Gorgeous? Yeeeeep. Master of her field? Have you seen the weddings she’s designed?! Beautiful family? As beautiful inside as out, and her girls adore the heck out of their momma! To top it all off, Lisa’s also an amazing cook, and is always taking photos of Barefoot Contessa-quality meals she’s made for her family that if I hadn’t seen her make in person, I’d swear she was just taking photos of cookbooks every night and passing them off as her own. Lisa is also a wonderful gift giver, and for Christmas last year, she and Jeffrey gifted their families a cooking class. Cute, right? Everyone also got their own personalized chef hat! :)
Where do we come in? Well lucky for us, their cooking class at Truffles and Trifles had two spots open and we happened to be in town for some weddings. Even though it’s way out of our comfort zone (I have exactly 3 recipes I feel confident enough to make for guests, and still manage to bomb making pancakes), we were excited to participate, if just to meet their sweet family members we’ve heard so much about.
At the beginning of the class, Nate and I clung to Jeffrey and Lisa like five year olds on the first day of kindergarten, thinking we’d be put in the same group. Wrong! We went through a line and were numbered off 1, 2, 3, and 4, so we were all put in separate groups. This ended up being a wonderful thing, not only because I was able to get to know their sweet mommas, but I was put with Lisa’s prodigy, Sara, so I was sort of able to cheat my way through the evening.
Yeah. I’m not so “home” in the kitchen!
Nate TOTALLY did this.
See? Oh, and since we were invited last minute Lisa wasn’t able to find us chef hats, so we’re sorta wearing personalized fezes instead. ;)
Ever love friends so much you wish you could just kidnap them? Yep. <3
Lisa and Jeffrey, thank you for letting us come along and meet your other family! We love you four to the moon and back! <3

Mary + Jordan : Windermere Country Club Wedding Reception
Continued from Mary and Jordan’s Wedding Part I. :)
We didn’t even know until their wedding day that Mary and Jordan actually found us through one of our favorite past couples, Katie and Jordan! Katie and Mary’s moms are best friends and Katie’s mom was sweet enough to pass our name along when Mary got engaged. Love mommas who help keep us in business! It was such a happy surprise to bump into our past-bride-now-new-momma Katie at Mary’s ceremony. :)
Just married faces! :)
As I mentioned in their first blog post, there was pretty limited time between Mary and Jordan’s ceremony and reception, so Nate and I zipped back to the Windermere Country Club for some quick detail photos, then it was on to the first dance. My favorite detail Mary had at her reception was this chalkboard timeline- Notice anything funny about those dates?!
In their first post, I mentioned how Mary and Jordan not only opted for a first look, but they also let us steal them away for some sunset photos during dinner. Nate grabbed this shot, which I love ’cause Mary’s pose reminds me of the Beauty and the Beast ballroom scene. :)
Gotta love a southern girl who sports her new monogram initials at her reception! <3
Our first “Weekend at Bernie’s” dance experience. :)
Mary and Jordan, we so loved being a part of your wedding day!!!
