Virginia + Lindsey : Downtown Memphis Wedding

I’m embarrassed to admit the actual number of weddings we photographed in our home state when we were Tennessee residents, but the ones we did shoot, we loved so much! :) Virginia and Lindsey were our last TN couple, and we shot their wedding right after deciding it was time to move back home to Florida but before we put our home up for sale. It was a scary time not knowing if we’d be able to sell the house, whether it would sell quickly or we’d be there for months and months, where exactly we’d live when we move back to Florida, if it was possible to fit everything in a moving van, if friends in Tennessee would forgive us for moving or Florida friends would still want to see us, etc. etc.

When we moved to Tennessee, my number 1 wedding bucket list hope was to photograph at the Peabody Hotel. It is the most special place in downtown Memphis to me, and where I spent every Thanksgiving growing up. My family would get all gussied up and go to the fancy Thanksgiving Day brunch, hang out with the ducks, get a photo in front of the giant Christmas tree, and then head home to decorate our own. It’s such a special place and it was an absolute dream to finally be able to shoot there. :)

One of Virginia’s bridesmaids had temporary tattoos made of their dog Nigel. :)

Bridesmaid photos on the Peabody rooftop? Dream come true moment for me! :)

I loooooove when couples exchange gifts during the first look! :)

Oh yeah- One of her bridesmaids was Hailey from Ready for Love. :)

Virginia and Lindsey were married in Memphis’s gorgeous Calvary Episcopal Church.

Their reception continued at the Center for Southern Folklore in downtown Memphis!

Nigel totally made an appearance at the wedding!!!

Had to grab a photo with Emily and Stephen, our awesome couple who referred us. Thank y’all!!!! <3

Unity in Glass

Lindsay and Jackie’s alternative to the sand ceremony or unity candle may be one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen!

Basically instead of combining sand, you combine glass crystals. You choose your colors and what you’d like your glass made into, send the pieces back to Unity in Glass, and then get this completely awesome piece of art to display in your home the rest of your lives. How cool is this?! The pieces run from $60 to almost $700, and they even have a UNITY ORNAMENT, YOU GUYS.

Lauren + Marek : Downtown Winter Garden Engagement Session

Today’s session involves the cutest couple you’ve ever seen and the cutest big dog you’ve ever seen. And we happened to take these in downtown Winter Garden, which also happens to be the cutest downtown you’ve ever seen- Though we’re a little partial. ;)

Jessica + Ben : Sea Breeze Point Wedding and Hollywood Studios Prop Shop Reception

Jessica and Ben met online and were engaged in Walt Disney World, so it was only right that these amazing Aussies came back to their favorite place to get married.

It’s always a wonderful thing when we get our first inquiry email from a new couple and immediately get that feeling that they’re a perfect fit for us. Our first communication was from Ben, who wrote, “We love being around each other and even trips to the grocery store are whimsical adventures when we’re together.”

Jess and Ben got ready at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn before their Sea Breeze Point ceremony. :)

Oh yeah- We were greeted that morning with this huuuuge basket of Aussie sweets!! I’ll always remember their wedding as the day we fell in love with Tim Tams. :)

I love that even after ~8 years of photographing Disney weddings, there are still venues we’ve never photographed before! Jess and Ben had their reception at the Disney Hollywood Studios Prop Shop.

Their first dance started off incredibly sweet…

… And ended with the bridal party joining them for a choreographed dance to “Everybody” by the Backstreet Boys. :)

Another first for us? Some quick wedding portraits around the Tower of Terror! Jess and Ben are awesome and surprised their guests with a private ride. :)
