Jane + David : Boston King’s Chapel Wedding Ceremony and Hotel Commonwealth

January 15, 2018 by Jensey 1 Comment

What. A. Wedding. To. End. Our. 2017. You. Guys.

It’s a two-parter so make sure you read on to part II as soon as you finish with this one! :)

Almost 8ish years ago, Jane was the bridesmaid in a wedding we photographed of a family friend. I really, really loved her and she was such a fun energy, we Facebook friend-ed each other and that was that. Fast forward to December 2017. I was beyond flattered when, during the limo ride to their ceremony, Jane tells me that within ~15 minutes of David proposing, she announced that she knew who their wedding photographers would be! (Spoiler: Us!)

I’m so happy we got this quick trip to Boston and we got to visit snow! When we left Florida it was in the upper 70’s, so it was nice to get a couple genuinely chilly days in so close to Christmas! We both kinda fell in love with Boston, even though we mainly saw it from our hotel room and Lyft car windows. I’m actually a big baby in the cold even though I’m obsessed with snow. It’s sad, really. But in my defense, the weather was in the single digits! We need to come back another time of year, for sure.

Jane and David’s ceremony was held at King’s Chapel, one of the 16 historic sites found on the Freedom Trail. They went on the Freedom Trail on David’s first trip to see Jane in Boston and happened upon the church. Built by the man considered to be America’s first architect,  it’s had just a *few* notable attendees, including George Washington, Paul Revere (who even made the church’s bell- it was the last bell he ever made!), and now more importantly, Jane and David and us! <3

Jane and David started their day at Hotel Commonwealth, a luxury hotel with quite a view! ;)

This grin didn’t leave his face allllll day long. This Florida boy loves shooting in the snow! :)

Jane’s BHLDN wedding gown still has me swooning. That beading!! <3

Jane was getting ready in the Fenway Suite at the Commonwealth Hotel and there were so many fun props to shoot the rings! :)

That white tux- swoooooooooon! <3

I think this was my favorite photo of you all day, Jane! That smiiiiile!!! Between that gorgeous beading and her braid, I just wanted to give her a standing ovation all day! :)

It was a *little* too cold to get them outside for photos, but luckily for us, their hotel had floor to ceiling windows overlooking Fenway Park! :)

One of my favorites! :)

Then it was on to the ceremony at King’s Chapel in downtown Boston!! I loved this church so, so much. Just the first line on their website alone, “Pilgrims. Tourists. Worshipers. Music lovers. Historians. Believers, Questioning believers. Doubters. Seekers. Skeptics. You are welcome at King’s Chapel.” <3

LOOK AT THESE AMAZING PEWS.

Loved, loved, loved this officiant!! And they let David ring the Paul Revere Bell after the ceremony! :)

We had to sneak *some* photos at the entrance of the chapel’s 200 year old crypt vault!

And just like that it was reception time! Click here for the rest of Jane and David’s story!! :)

Jane + David : Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation Wedding Reception

January 15, 2018 by Jensey Leave a Comment

Continued from Jane and David’s wedding part one here! :)

We left King’s Chapel and were greeted with a stunning reception hall all set and ready to go by Jane’s planner, Sarah of Without a Hitch. If you live in the Boston area, Sarah was an absolute delight to work with and everything went off, well… Without a hitch! ;)

They had a wedding CHEESE CAKE!

Such a perfect wedding look for a New Year’s Eve Eve wedding! :)

Making it Facebook official! :)

Serious hazard of wearing sequined dresses: Getting stuck to your friends! :)

Jane saw my face light up when I realized their guests were each served their own Funfetti cake, and she insisted I have a bite of hers. Before I could say no, it was in my mouth!!

First dance to Otis Redding’s “Cigarettes and Coffee.”

Gotta squeeze all the Root couples in for our end-of-the-night photo!!! Brooke and Kyle, you are forever a favorite couple to see at weddings! And Jane and David- Where do we begin?! Thank you so much for this adventure and we hope you love your photos as much as we loved taking them!!! :)

Tara + Cody : Orlando Wedding!

January 14, 2018 by Jensey Leave a Comment

Happy JANUARY!

There are two *very* important posts I need to get up asap!

The first: Our last Disney wedding of 2017! Even though we had another one 3 weeks later, I always get a lil’ sappy about our last weddings of the year. This was such a sweet couple to end the year with, and I mean, when your day starts with an appearance from Tara’s daughter’s elf zip lining in the shower, you know it’s gonna be a good wedding! :)

Also, Goonies cuff-links? Yes, please! :)

Tara’s daughter Emma was an absolute angel. More of her later in the post! :)

First look time! :)

Always one of my favorite photo spots! :)

Remember when it was Christmas?! Already missing these decorations so much!

I couldn’t get enough of their burgundy palette with their wedding location!

Emma the great! <3

Ceremony time! Emma’s little kiss on Cody’s cheek just melted me!

Nate grabbed this one as soon as Emma ran to them after the ceremony, and it’s my favorite. Favorite favorite favorite.

Loved their choice of reception entertainment! :)

Nate’s been taking over shooting dessert parties on his own so I can snuggle Oliver after being away all day. This night was extra special, though, because Ollie and I enjoyed a mommy and me Epcot date to hear Candlelight, and Tara and Cody invited us to watch the fireworks from their space! So we snuck in right as Illuminations began, watched the show, and I even took a few photos while Oliver snoozed in his stroller. :)

All of these dessert party photos were taken by Nate, except the one below on the right which I grabbed really quickly! :)

Tara and Cody, thank y’all for ending our year of Disney weddings in the sweetest way possible! We wish you the very very best!! :)

Next up: Our last last wedding of 2017!!

Jessie + Jason + Baby C : Ft. Lauderdale Park Maternity Session

January 9, 2018 by Jensey Leave a Comment

I first met Jessie when she was 16. We were in my now mother-in-law’s kitchen, and she had a black and white tea length skirt on and I told her I loved her because she looked like Audrey Hepburn!

It’s hard to believe the spunky, slightly rebellious teenager I remember driving me around when she first got her license is now  p r e g n a n t. But then of course that seems like a lifetime ago, and it’s only when I think back to our early Starbucks dates on my visits to town that I realize how much our lives have changed. But then I think about our topics of conversation then and now and honestly not a whole lot has changed at all!

For as much as we’re different, Jessie forever has my heart. Out of allllllll of my in-laws, she’s the first I really connected with. I feel like she was the first to see me as more than Nate’s girlfriend, and the first time Nate had to leave me in the NICU with Oliver to shoot a wedding, she was the one I called to be by my side. She’s truly my little sister.

And sometime very, very soon, I’ll have a new favorite relative: My newest niece!!!! I’ve always been that crazy aunt who loves her nieces and nephews too much, but this time is extra special… Baby C will only be a 3.5 hour drive away. Which means I get to see her all the time, and she and Oliver will be raised as best friend cousins which is truly my dream for my only child son! Get ready Baby C. Adventure is out there and Ollie can’t wait to show you everything! :)

Nate took these photos in maybe 30 minutes at a nearby park in Fort Lauderdale and I’m completely obsessed with them. I mean… Can we please talk about how my sister is a fairy garden goddess pregnant woman?!

(And for those of you wondering, this stunning dress is from Forever 21. I know. I sneakily bought it for Jess when we shot a maternity session last year and our mama was wearing the same one- It screamed Jessie! I haven’t seen it online since but this just goes to show you can find great maternity dresses anywhere. Look for long and flowy!)

YOU GUYS!!! THIS IS HAPPENING!!! WE’LL SEE YOU SOOOOON! ;)
