Catie + Amanda : Swan and Dolphin Wedding

October 19, 2020 by Jensey 1 Comment

Amanda has been following our work for years, since our very first Disney wedding, Carrie and Patrick! <3

Catie and Amanda met through work where they’re both oncology nurses. They live in Jacksonville but spend a lot of time at Disney, where both proposals took place. They’ve known they wanted a wedding at the Swan and Dolphin since the beginning, and we were extra excited, because we’ve never done a wedding there! This was our first post-Covid wedding on property, and I’d be lying if I didn’t say I had a little lump in my throat walking through the Boardwalk lobby with my camera!

Special thanks to this vendor team! <3

Wedding Planning : Just Marry!
Venue : WDW Swan & Dolphin Resort
Entertainment : DJ Live Productions
Beauty : Fairytale Hair & Make-Up
Decor : Orlando Wedding and Party Rentals

Even now when Amanda’s laces become untied around her parents, her dad ties them. :) Amanda made sure he had the honor on her wedding day to tie her wedding shoes. <3

First looooook!

I was blown away by how the Swan and Dolphin handled everything! Their wedding cake was safely behind glass but still visible to guests.

Favorite part of every wedding: our check in with Ollie during dinner! This was him serenading us with his “flute,” just a drumstick he’s blowing, lol.

Sure the guests are masked, but I promise the fun level is the same! :)

Amanda and Catie, it was an absolute honor!!! Thank you for having us!! :)

Noelle + Phil : Royal Crest Room Wedding

October 16, 2020 by Jensey Leave a Comment

We went from March to September without a wedding. (Other than a sweet elopement Nate photographed on his own in Winter Park!)

I was *so* nervous to shoot again. Worried I’d be awkward and forget how to work a camera and the weather would be awful and it’d show how rusty we were. I wasn’t expecting it all to come back like riding a bike! :) Noelle and Phil’s wedding was our first “big” wedding back. These guys had to change plans a few times, but it all ended up working out great. They were married at the Royal Crest Room in St. Cloud. Their florists transformed the ballroom to look like a botanical garden, which is where their Plan A wedding was supposed to be. There have been some silver linings with this whole pandemic, and one of those was we weren’t a part of their Plan A, but we were more than thrilled to join them for Plan C!

Venue + Catering : Royal Crest Room
Entertainment : DJ Chuck Johnson
Videographer : Written in Film
Floral Designer : RJ Glamour & Innovation
Bride’s Dress : Martina Liana #1033, Ivory and White Boutique
Bridesmaids Dresses: Dessy gowns in Desert Rose – Bella Bridesmaids
Cake Designer: Bakers Cottage Cake
Fireworks: Orlando Special Effects

That little “Let’s try this again!” <3

First look with Dad. <3

No shortage of good luck rain for these two- We were on pins and needles through the ceremony as the darkest clouds rolled in! But luckily the “good luck” held off until after they were married and Noelle was all up for a rainy golf cart ride for some newly married portraits! <3

Noelle and Phil, huge thanks and love to you and your families for having us!! Can’t think of a sweeter way to kick off this crazy wedding season. <3

Lauren + Craig : Boat House at Confluence Park Wedding

October 1, 2020 by Jensey 3 Comments

If we’ve photographed your wedding, you’ve hopefully joined our online “clubhouse” for past Root couples. It’s called Root Lifers BECAUSE of Lindsey, the sister of the bride you’re about to meet. So to say this family is special to us is an extreme understatement; they’re family. <3

Lauren and Craig’s wedding story is a lot like some other weddings I’ll be sharing this year: they planned a beautiful May wedding in Columbus, Ohio, before the world fell apart and had to pivot. They rescheduled to September and she was so happy they did; when their original wedding date arrived, it poured allllllll day, so everything would have been moved inside! Instead, we enjoyed the most amazing weather in the 70º’s, and it was the most welcome break for these Florida kids!!

Y’all- we’ve only shot two weddings these past 6 months and I still never even blogged our last two weddings before the shutdown! I definitely feel a little dusty when we start shooting, but it all comes back right away. And I’m a little out of practice when it comes to our workflow after a wedding, trying to remind myself what step is next, lol! Anyway, I thought I’d jump back into blogging with our most recent event and then catch up as time goes on.

On to Lauren and Craig’s day! <3

These two met AT a wedding! Lauren was a bridesmaid and she and Craig even have a photo from dancing at the reception. :)

We’ve photographed Maddie since she was a teeny baby, so I loved seeing how grown up she looked as a flower girl in her aunt’s wedding! <3

Just to prove I’m not lying- This baby is the beauty in the last photo!! <3

First look love! <3

The middle three are all Root brides! <3 <3 <3

His sweet mama was a ball of emotions all day and I. was. here. for. it!! <3

Lindsey’s sweet grandma wasn’t able to make it because of Covid, but she was absolutely there in spirit (and Facetime!)

Special mini session for our favorites!!! This will be the first year they haven’t come down to Florida for a family session since Liam was a BABY and I’m still in denial about that!

Magazine worthy! <3

Oh Lauren and Craig, I can’t thank you enough for keeping us in the family. We’re so thankful to you ALL and can’t wait until next time!!! :)
