Christy + Michael : Wedding

March 15, 2011 by Jensey 19 Comments

Surely you remember Christy and Michael from their Calvin and Hobbes inspired engagement session around St Augustine, Florida! Needless to say, we were more than a little excited about their wedding day. :) The whole event was held at The Players Club in Sawgrass, Florida.

There were so many unique details about this wedding that it truly made it one of our favorites of 2010. Case in point :

The guys started the day playing Halo, and even let Nate join in for a bit. :)

Christy’s bridesmaids did a fabulous job on her hair and make-up!

Michael and his groomsmen, in lieu of boutonnieres, sported action figures on their lapels. :)

Christy, you are gooooorgeous!

Christy is an only child, and I loved how doting her sweet parents were. :)

Their guest book table, complete with an antique typewriter and the infamous red wagon used during our engagement session, was just darling.

Yeah… Mike wasn’t at all excited to get married. Not. One. Bit. ;)

Another favorite part of Christy and Mike’s day – Their ‘grown-up’ flower girl and ring bearer. :)

Even their vows were completely unique : After the traditional vows, the officiant asked Michael, “And, in the event of the Zombie Apocalypse, do you, Michael, promise to PROTECT, PROVIDE FOR and be PATIENT with Christy?” Then, when it was Christy’s turn after her traditional vows, he asked, “With his promise in mind, in the event of the Zombie Apocalypse, do you, Christy, promise to follow Michael’s instructions without question in order to keep you both alive?” AMAZING. :)

FAVORITE! You guys need this one HUGE. On canvas. Just sayin’. :)

Many of the centerpieces were antique pieces that were borrowed from members of Christy’s family. So cute! :)

You knew it was coming : The lightsaber entrance!

A cake after my own heart!

As if the wedding couldn’t get any better, our favorite group, The Buzzcats, were there to wow the crowd!

See? :)

To all of my other brides : Why have we never seen milk and cookies served at a reception before?!

We may or may not have surprised Michael with a wedding gift… We found out during their engagement session that Christy and Mike are huge soccer fans. When Lorie and Jon were honeymooning at the World Cup, we had them pick up a vuvuzela for them, and Mike brought it out during the last dance. :)

The end. :)

Casey + David : Wedding Part II

March 8, 2011 by Jensey 9 Comments

Continued from Casey and David’s Wedding Part I

Casey and David were amazing and scheduled about a full hour of photos for just the two of them after the group photos. Needless to say… We were in love. :)

Rollins College, you make our job easy!

We were so excited to get back to Rosen Shingle Creek and work with our buddy Jen. :)

Allison from the Blush by Brandee Gaar team made sure every detail was perfect so Casey could enjoy her wedding day!

One of my all time favorite wedding details. :)

I’ve always loved Rosen Shingle Creek’s split level ballroom!

I think this photo is much more entertaining without the explanation. ;)

Casey’s maid of honor was determined to not cry during her speech…

… But we all knew it would happen eventually. :)

FAVORITE.

Casey + David : Wedding Part I

March 7, 2011 by Jensey 8 Comments

If you happened to follow the blog during our big launch extravaganza last May, then you should remember Casey and David being one of our first posts! We photographed their engagement session around Central Park, in autumn, and it was magical.

Kate Spade heels? With giant bows on the toes? Yes, I knew Casey and I would get along juuuuust fine. ;)

Casey was an avid blog stalker and opted for a cute hanger after spotting Amanda’s almost a year ago! If you’re interested in ordering your own, you can find them here on Etsy.

Our favorite, Patricia LeJeune, strikes again! :) Casey’s hair and makeup was flawless!

FAVORITE. :)

When Casey’s dad married her mom, he sent her a note before the ceremony that just read, “Good luck.” David continued the tradition! :)

One of my top 3 favorite flower girls of all time… Not only did she know the names of everyone in the bridal party (all 8+), but she knew who was married, which bridesmaid had a secret crush on which groomsman, how everyone was linked to Casey, and where they were from. She took her job seriously. :)

Casey and David were married in Winter Park’s Saint Margaret Mary Catholic Church. I looooooved the windows… So cool!

I’d prefer to leave you with no explanation here. :)

Second favorite… I love dreamy light. :)
