Kate + Anthony : Cliffs at Glassy Chapel Wedding in Greenville, SC

June 8, 2018 by Jensey 1 Comment

To say we were excited for Kate and Anthony’s wedding would be an understatement. Not only are they a part of a favorite Root Lifer family, but this photo was from their engagement session and it was maybe my favorite photo I’ve ever taken!

And today is an extra special day to blog these guys, because 5 years ago today, we photographed her sister’s wedding! :) Throwback photo time to my favorite siblings!

Kate and Anthony were married in Greenville, SC, and Kate got ready in her parents’ gorgeous home. I looooove getting ready photos at home, but especially when that home has huge windows, gorgeous views, and a million backdrop opportunities. :)

Latia of Cotton Rouge and Company did such a great job with Kate’s hair and makeup! :)

Nate’s favorite part of wedding photos at home? When the family dog makes their appearance! :)

2018 is officially the year I’ve fallen in love with illusion straps on wedding dresses! I was so enamored with Kate’s dress- Watters Azriel! <3

Kate’s floral was done by Urban Petals, a company I wish would move down here. Not only was their floral a true work of art, but Kate’s sweet mom works with them. And I loved the owner, Anna- My only complaint was I didn’t get much time to visit with her! :)

I honestly don’t know if I love this view or these girls more. <3

Before we knew it, it was off to meet Anthony at the Cliffs at Glassy Chapel, one of our faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaavorite wedding venues, for their first look!

This photo by Nate is one of my favorites. <3

Kaaaaaate! You made a stunning bride! :)

Next favorite! :)

Nate’s view on the left, mine on the right. :)

Kate walked down the aisle to “When You Wish Upon a Star.” <3

Our last wedding at the Cliffs involved a snoring pug ring bearer, and this one, a yawning one, lol. :)

We made sure to grab some photos of Kate’s siblings with their significant others. You know.. To use in blog posts when THEY get married. ;)

Next it was down the mountain and off to The Cabin at The Cliffs at Mountain Park for their cozy reception. <3

I looooooved this venue for a wedding reception. The family style tables, the fireplace.. They even had games for everyone to play outside and s’mores by the firepit! :)

First dance to “You Matter to Me” from Waitress on Broadway. :)

Anthony, this is my favorite photo of you! Pure bliss. :)

Nate’s view followed by mine for their sparkler exit. <3

Last but not least, our Root selfie with both Root couples. <3 Kate and Anthony, where do I even begin?! Thank you for bringing us up for your wedding!! And Palermo family, thank you for loving us like your own. We so hope to see y’all again soon!!!!

Nicole + Lacey : Loveless Cafe Wedding in Nashville TN

March 16, 2018 by Jensey 4 Comments

Nicole grew up in Illinois, living right next door to her grandparents, who were her best friends.

Lacey grew up in a small town in Kansas, population of about 300 people. Always dreaming of living in a big city, she made the move to Chicago and met Nicole, the love of her life! :)

Now, *I* met Nicole when she worked with me in Fantasyland! We had a lot of mutual friends in common and I always wanted to be better friends, and then she was moved into Disney Entertainment which wasn’t a shock at all to anyone who knew her- One look at her and you knew she was princess material! :) I looooooooved going to visit “my” ____ (I’m not allowed to say who she was friends with but I put in a little hint in the photos below!) We kept in touch over Facebook, and what felt like a million failed attempts to meet up for headshots later, I was thrilled to hear she was engaged.

We met Lacey and Nicole earlier last year around the Grand Floridian. Last April 23rd. That was one week before we found out that the baby we were adopting was a boy, and due just weeks away, not months like we thought!!

These two first planned for their wedding to be in Chicago, but changed venues (and states!) to the Loveless Cafe in Nashville. This was a dream come true venue for us to photograph, because we used to live just 20 minutes away! I always wanted to photograph a bride in front of that iconic sign, and it was truly worth the wait to photograph TWO of them there. <3 Annnnd we got to bring Ollie to Nashville! :)

You KNOW it’s a Nashville wedding when lace and boots are involved. <3

Ma seeing Nicole in her dress for the first time. Just know right here and now that any photo with this gorgeous woman involved is my favorite! <3

I can’t tell you who she was “friends” with buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut.. <3

I CANNOT look at photos from their first look without tearing up, and I dare you to do the same. <3

Wedding time! Nicole and Lacey were lucky enough to have a rainy wedding day, and a venue that had all their bases covered in such an event. They had a basket of blankets for their guests to stay cozy and the cloud cover with Loveless’s rain tent provided such great natural light for us. BOTH of these brides took the news of the forecast in stride and didn’t let it dampen their spirits (see what I did there?) They were just thrilled to be getting married. And as I told Nicole, now any time they have a cold, overcast, rainy day, they can think about their wedding day. <3

My favorite thing about Nicole has always been the strong relationship she has with her sweet mom and grandmother. These three are thick as thieves and it made me so happy to photograph! :)

Hazard of two brides- Lace is a lil’ clingy! ;)

Nicole and Lacey, I loved every single moment of your wedding day. Nicole, you truly glowed and I couldn’t be happier you found your Nate. We love y’all and so hope to see you again soon!!! <3

Jane + David : Boston King’s Chapel Wedding Ceremony and Hotel Commonwealth

January 15, 2018 by Jensey 1 Comment

What. A. Wedding. To. End. Our. 2017. You. Guys.

It’s a two-parter so make sure you read on to part II as soon as you finish with this one! :)

Almost 8ish years ago, Jane was the bridesmaid in a wedding we photographed of a family friend. I really, really loved her and she was such a fun energy, we Facebook friend-ed each other and that was that. Fast forward to December 2017. I was beyond flattered when, during the limo ride to their ceremony, Jane tells me that within ~15 minutes of David proposing, she announced that she knew who their wedding photographers would be! (Spoiler: Us!)

I’m so happy we got this quick trip to Boston and we got to visit snow! When we left Florida it was in the upper 70’s, so it was nice to get a couple genuinely chilly days in so close to Christmas! We both kinda fell in love with Boston, even though we mainly saw it from our hotel room and Lyft car windows. I’m actually a big baby in the cold even though I’m obsessed with snow. It’s sad, really. But in my defense, the weather was in the single digits! We need to come back another time of year, for sure.

Jane and David’s ceremony was held at King’s Chapel, one of the 16 historic sites found on the Freedom Trail. They went on the Freedom Trail on David’s first trip to see Jane in Boston and happened upon the church. Built by the man considered to be America’s first architect,  it’s had just a *few* notable attendees, including George Washington, Paul Revere (who even made the church’s bell- it was the last bell he ever made!), and now more importantly, Jane and David and us! <3

Jane and David started their day at Hotel Commonwealth, a luxury hotel with quite a view! ;)

This grin didn’t leave his face allllll day long. This Florida boy loves shooting in the snow! :)

Jane’s BHLDN wedding gown still has me swooning. That beading!! <3

Jane was getting ready in the Fenway Suite at the Commonwealth Hotel and there were so many fun props to shoot the rings! :)

That white tux- swoooooooooon! <3

I think this was my favorite photo of you all day, Jane! That smiiiiile!!! Between that gorgeous beading and her braid, I just wanted to give her a standing ovation all day! :)

It was a *little* too cold to get them outside for photos, but luckily for us, their hotel had floor to ceiling windows overlooking Fenway Park! :)

One of my favorites! :)

Then it was on to the ceremony at King’s Chapel in downtown Boston!! I loved this church so, so much. Just the first line on their website alone, “Pilgrims. Tourists. Worshipers. Music lovers. Historians. Believers, Questioning believers. Doubters. Seekers. Skeptics. You are welcome at King’s Chapel.” <3

LOOK AT THESE AMAZING PEWS.

Loved, loved, loved this officiant!! And they let David ring the Paul Revere Bell after the ceremony! :)

We had to sneak *some* photos at the entrance of the chapel’s 200 year old crypt vault!

And just like that it was reception time! Click here for the rest of Jane and David’s story!! :)
