Erin + Brendan : Engagement

August 30, 2010 by Jensey 8 Comments

We photographed Erin and Brendan’s engagement session around Park Avenue in Winter Park. :) It was our first time to meet them, but as soon as I saw Erin’s red hair and bright blue dress, I was in love!

Seriously, how gorgeous is she? I felt like I was photographing Ariel all day. :)

I shot this through the back of a black metal chair, and I love the texture the pattern made:

One of my favorites. :)

Hiiiiii!

They didn’t even bat an eye when we walked by a semi truck and asked them to work with it. :)

They’re having a Disney wedding next year, so we had to throw in some mouse love. <3

See? I’m not crazy. :)

Erin and Brendan, we love you guys!!! :)

My Little Superhero

August 28, 2010 by Jensey 72 Comments

Things like this always seem to happen when you don’t follow your normal life pattern: Nate and I never take walks in the rain, nor do we walk counter-clockwise to our usual path, but last night we changed things up. When we were about 1/4 mile from our home, a terrier about twice the size of Huck attacked him. The other dog was on a “leash” (it was attached to the dog’s collar, but not being held by the owner).

Because it was so dark, we couldn’t see where he got Huck, but thankfully Nate had a flashlight in his pocket. As we’re trying to examine Huck in a panic, we immediately saw his little eye swollen and hemorrhaging. Five and some odd hours later, we were able to leave the emergency vet clinic with a very sleepy puppy with very swollen, sewn-shut eye lid. :(

Huck has been amazing so far with all of this. When Nate ran off to get the car and I was weeping uncontrollably waiting for him to come get us, Huck jumped at my legs, and after I picked him up, immediately started licking my tears. He truly had no idea what was going on, and was just excited to go for a car ride! We’ll know in 10 days or so when his stitches come out if they were able to save his eye, but so far it’s looking good.

I will say, though, that while I was a complete wreck last night (and every now and then today when I look at Huck), Nate blew me away by being the perfect husband and dad… Not only was he perfect at consoling me during my breakdowns, but he was such a good dad for Huck by keeping him calm and holding him when I couldn’t. :( As horrid as last night was, I fell in love all over again with my husband.

Anyway, I just wanted to share what happened for all of Huck’s fans, and wanted to let everyone know he’s doing fine but to please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. I want to sincerely thank you all for your concern and well wishes- It’s helped make a difficult day a little bit easier.

I won’t post a straight-on eye shot since it looks like something out of a horror movie or The Terminator, but here’s a shot of our little hero from this morning:

Love you, Huckleberry Finn. We’ll make it through this. :)

Morgan + Jason : Wedding Part 2

Continued from Morgan and Jason’s Wedding Part I

Some kiss and cry photos from their receiving line…

So. If you’re a past client, you know we ask for 40 or so minutes to shoot just the bride and groom on the wedding day. The main reason we ask for so much time is because when things run late on a wedding day (which 90% of the time they do), that late time gets taken out of our photo time. Well, on Morgan and Jason’s wedding day, we had about 45 minutes. Take out the receiving line, add in the 50 or so group shot list, and we ended up with about 3 minutes to shoot the couple. Lucky for us, Morgan and Jason worked it out and we were still able to walk away with photos that I just loved.

This was the very first shot I took during that part of the day, and it’s one of my all time favorites. :)

Morgan and Jason met while working out at 24 Hour Fitness. Morgan insists it was love at first sight!

I love all the emotions during the speeches! :)

Morgan’s talented Mom made their wedding cake!

Morgan and Jason, thank you sooooooo much for letting us tag along on your big day! We truly had a wonderful time. :)
