The most perfect New Year’s Eve backyard wedding you ever did see. <3
When we’re talking to someone we’ve never met and they find out Nate and I are wedding photographers, the biggest question we ever get is about bridezillas. (We don’t have any!) Then it’s something along the lines of, “how do you sacrifice every weekend?!” Then the conversation turns into a bit of a choose your own adventure book: I can either smile and shrug, or try to explain we don’t photograph 52 weddings a year, more like 25. And of those 25, some of those are Disney weddings that take place during the week. And some of *those* are even 6am start times on Wednesday mornings!
Another question we’re often asked is if we’ve had couples divorce, followed by some tasteless joke about how awkward it would be to photograph someone’s wedding again. Well, we’re in the wedding business. And yes, unfortunately people get divorced. I *do* think that we’ve had less couples break up than others, but yes- In 13 years of business, we’ve seem some casualties. And yes, we’ve also had the extreme honor of photographing favorite brides… Again.
See… Sometimes happily ever after doesn’t happen the first time around; sometimes it takes a little more time to find that perfect fit. And while divorce isn’t something I wish on any of our couples, I cannot explain the immense honor it is to be asked to be a part of the next chapter. To know that we did our job to the point that to them, another photographer isn’t even an option.
I went back and forth on whether or not to even mention that. Because today’s post is about Lauren and Leigh Ann. The family and life they’ve built together. But I felt remiss if I didn’t talk about the past a little to explain the joy I felt seeing these two together. Happy. Complete.
Lauren and Leigh Ann, thank you for the greatest honor a photographer could have. We love y’all!!!!
