Eskimo Quinn Visits Nashville Part I

September 5, 2013 by Jensey 5 Comments

Eskimo Quinn week continues on the blog! We just finished spending four blissful weeks with this sweet face. Before I share some of those photos, here are my favorites from his trip to see us in Nashville this April! :)

I’ve been asked a few times why I call him “Eskimo Quinn,” and it’s because of this song:

Eskimo Quinn Visits Nashville

True story : I bought a ton of baby toys for his visit and all he did was eat the box they came in. :)

Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaavorite. :)

My brother is pretty much an expert at everything. And no, I’m not just saying that because he’s my big brother- He really knows pretty much everything. Nate was over the moon to have someone show him how to build shelves in our garage! I really should post a photo of the “after” because I’ve never seen more beautiful shelves in my life, but I sorta forgot.

We hear all the time from friends that their dogs want nothing to do with their babies- We kinda have the opposite problem with Huck!

I don’t know what’s going on in this top photo, but I love the family resemblance in the next two frames. ;)

Mom and Iake came up to visit, too! :)

Oh, Huck. :/

I’m still so thankful we got to be a part of Quinn’s first visit to the zoo! And baby Kinley’s too technically, I suppose!

Maevy + Carter : Nashville Family Session in Centennial Park

June 25, 2013 by Jensey 3 Comments

Remember yesterday how I told you about my love for Robyn in her engagement session post? Well, the love fest for this sweet family continues, with a family session we photographed in Centennial Park here in Nashville. This is Robyn’s beautiful sister Amy’s family.

Even though I’m pretty sure I only remember meeting Amy a couple times in high school, I’ve been a blog stalker of hers for a few years now. Amy writes one of my favorite blogs I follow called “March Forth with Maevy.” Maevy is Amy’s vivacious four year old, and Amy’s blog posts are all written to her. I would LOVE to have something like this to look back on as an adult! I followed Amy’s blog in my reader for a while, but it wasn’t until she wrote about Maevy’s first time watching The Wizard of Oz that I was truly hooked. I’ve become such a Maevy fan that I’m pretty sure when we photographed Robyn and Jake’s engagement session around Nashville, I spent more time asking about Amy’s family than them!

My favorite Maevy posts in no particular order, which you can read by clicking the descriptions below :

– The time she watched The Wizard of Oz and cried real tears, constantly worried about Toto.
– The time Maevy (correctly) insisted Tink was a light, and Jasmine shouldn’t show her tummy.
– The time Amy and Ryan told Maevy she was going to be a big sister.
– So Call Me Maevy!

A little over a year ago, Maevy became a big sister to the equally adorable Carter (Not to leave little Carter in the dust- I only recently realized I hadn’t been following along with Catching Carter, Amy’s blog for all things Carter!)

Enough fawning over these cute kiddos- On to the photos! First off, probably my favorite family portrait of the year.

Tristyn : Vanderbilt Campus Nashville Family Session

May 6, 2013 by Jensey 3 Comments

As the summer temperatures begin rapidly approaching (especially for those beautiful Florida weddings!), I begin daydreaming about autumn. Maybe I’m alone here, but if we could just get rid of summer altogether, well… You wouldn’t find me complaining!

So while I mentally prepare for the summer heat, I’m gonna write this blog from my air conditioned living room and share some cuddly autumn photos from a Nashville session we had last fall. It’s so hard to believe we photographed Celia and Drew’s engagement session five years ago- You can find it here on our dusty old blog. :) While we were booked on their wedding date, Celia and I reconnected through Facebook and I’ve been following her love story with Drew ever since! Their family of two grew with the addition of this little cutie, Tristyn, who just adds more proof to the fact that we not only get to photograph the most beautiful couples than any other photographer, but also the cutest babies!

I thought Celia was beautiful before, but Mom-hood has brought a whole new level of gorgeous. :)

While we took a break for Tristyn to finish his “protein shake,” Nate grabbed my favorite of the session without them even knowing. :)

Celia and Drew, thanks so much for the fun time!! Looking forward to hopefully doing it again soon. :)
