Adriana + Stephen : Wedding

May 18, 2011 by Jensey 2 Comments

There’s something special about the Courtyard at Lake Lucerene. Maybe it’s the warm-fuzzy feeling that’s a shoe-in when you get married at a bed and breakfast… Maybe it’s the hundreds of eclectic teapots that line the dining room, or the cozy canopy of overgrown trees draping over the back yard. No matter what it is, I’m in love with this place, and I was so excited to get the chance to work there this year!

You may remember from their St. Augustine engagement session that Adriana and Stephen were engaged in a bed and breakfast there. When it came to choosing a wedding location in Orlando, it really was a no-brainier for Adriana to pick the charming Dr. Phillips House!

One look at the buttons down her dress and her hot pink shoes and I knew it was gonna be a great day!

Have we introduced you to Pippi, our new (to us) car? This was the first wedding she drove us to and it warmed our hearts to see her framed perfectly from the window where Adriana got ready. :)

Because they are awesome, Adriana and Stephen opted for a “first look.”

F A V O R I T E.

Lee Forrest (our favorite florist) rocked our faces off with the adorable lanterns hanging from the gazebo.

Adriana, you were gooooooorgeous. :)

The place cards had different origami animals which led their guests to their respective tables. So creative!

Usually with weddings at the Dr. Phillips House, the ceremony, reception events, and dancing take place on the patio out back… We loved the natural afternoon light during their first dance.

Their wedding took place the same day as the “supermoon.”

Erin + Brendan : Wedding Part I

April 26, 2011 by Jensey 17 Comments

Erin and Brendan are one of those extra special couples. The kind that comes around once in a while, and after shooting their engagement session, my car ride home with Nate is mostly me freaking out, “Do you think they liked me? Was it awkward when I said ___? Do you think Erin will be my friend? No… Seriously?”

The only explanation I have for my obsession is this photo. Walking into a hotel room with a bubbly red head getting ready for her wedding and seeing she’s wearing a pair of Ariel socks? Let’s just say I was tempted to wow her with my mad friendship braiding skills right there and then!

It doesn’t hurt that Brendan is equally charming and adorable.

Oh, hello Patricia!

As if I couldn’t love her any more, Erin is part Irish and included shamrocks in the guests’ toss petals. I’m part Irish and was born on St. Patrick’s Day. See? Soul mates.

The kinda smile that can only be given by little blue boxes:

Easily one of my top 3 favorite “first looks” of all time.

Erin’s daddy and she aren’t big huggers, so when he gave her away at the altar, they did their secret “squirrel tap.”

Erin and Brendan’s vows were so charming, sweet, and personal… More on those in a later blog post! :)

Huzzah! Part II coming tomorrow!

Sarah + Michael : Wedding Part 1

February 22, 2011 by Jensey 21 Comments

Ever since Sarah and Michael’s engagement session at the St. Pete Time’s Forum, we knew their wedding day was gonna be amazing.

Just some of the reasons I’m obsessed with these two :

– Michael popped the question to Sarah at Steak n’ Shake, where they first met.

– They have an adorable pug, Lugnut, who is just as loved as Huckleberry. And that’s saying a lot.

– They were married 10-10-10.

– Did I mention part of our engagement session with them was on ice?!

– I quickly fell in love with their event planner, Jamie Morton. Not only was she “good friends” with Snow White back in the day at Walt Disney World, but she had the sweetest, calmest demeanor all day. Yes, much like Snow White, herself! Everyone fed off of her energy, every detail was perfect, and everything ran on time. On top of it all, she was assisted by her sweet mother, who was equally wonderful. We’re so excited to recommend them to our brides in the future!

– I LOVE THEIR BRIDAL PARTY. There, I said it! Within minutes of me publishing their wedding preview photos, Sarah, Michael, their moms, and bridesmaids were flooding our blog and Facebook with comments. I usually get excited if just the bride comments on her blog post, but an entire bridal party? Yes, please!

Scary!

All of our “First Look” couples hold a special place in my heart. Thank you, guys. <3

CHAMPION “FACE SNUGGLERS”! :)

FAVORITE!

Oh yeah, Sarah’s mom is a fellow photographer… We even caught her snooping through our lenses during the group photos!

Probably my favorite wedding detail, ever… Their huppah was made with patches decorated by their wedding guests. After the wedding, it became a keepsake quilt. So perfect. :)

Their ceremony was held at the Straz Center in Tampa, Florida.

Their rabbi was the best officiant we’ve ever seen – If you’re looking for a rabbi to officiate your ceremony in Florida, let us know and we’ll send you his info!

Part Two is up next! :)
