More First Look Love on the Blog!
Thank you, Sara, for today’s post! :)
I had never heard of a first look before planning our own wedding, but after seeing
pictures I loved the idea immediately. It’s such a special moment when you first
see each other on your wedding day and I didn’t like the idea of sharing that with
everyone. I also thought it was a great way to get all the pre-wedding jitters out
of the way and I couldn’t imagine not being able to speak to Ryan until after the
ceremony. This seemed like the best both worlds, we could have a private moment
together and get great pictures! We weren’t worried about superstitions and since
we were having a destination wedding there were also time concerns since the
reception was immediately following the ceremony.
Looking back I am so glad we did a first look. Not only was it a great moment for
the two of us, but it allowed us to get all the bridal party shots out of the way before
the ceremony and get a ton of couples shots. The pics from the first look and right
before the ceremony are some of my favorites from the day. And it definitely did
not take any excitement away from the ceremony, if anything, I think it may have
enhanced it.
The best part of the first look was not just the pictures from it, but all the pictures
we were able to get because we did it. I would definitely recommend it to future
brides!
