Being the daughter of a United States Marine fighter pilot, I’ve always been bothered by how often friends confuse Memorial Day and Veterans Day. If this has ever happened to you, just try to remember the differences by simplifying them: Memorial Day is for the fallen, Veterans Day is for thanking those who have served.
So wishing people a happy Memorial Day or gloating about how excited you are for Memorial Day weekend is offensive and hurtful to someone who’s lost a loved one in service.
Got it? Good. Now in honor of Veterans Day, enjoy some photos from when Michelle wed her handsome Marine (oorah!)
I couldn’t get enough of this little stud muffin!
Sneaky Nate. ;)
I mean, really…
I met smiley Michelle while working Fantasyland attractions on our Disney College Program! It’s impossible to not want to be friends with that face. :)
I love “firsts” on wedding days! Instead of Michelle and Ian smashing cake into each other’s faces, Michelle went for her sister (maid-of-honor)…
… While Ian took care of his best man. Neither had any clue it was coming!! Thankfully we got a heads up!!
It’s a wonderful thing seeing old friends so happy! :)
During the garter removal, Ian found a load of things! :)
Michelle and Ian, thank you so much for letting us be a part of your day!! Happy Veterans Day not only to those who’ve served, but other military families who also give up so much so we can be free. We are so thankful for all of you.
Even more Fantasyland weddings!
