Larisa + Family : Portrait

August 29, 2012 by Jensey 1 Comment

The morning after photographing Larisa and Eric’s anniversary session in downtown Philly, it was off to Newtown, Pennsylvania for Larisa’s family session! We were supposed to start the session at this really cute college campus, but we ended up being kicked out by campus security for not having a photo permit. Sad story! Lucky for us, Newtown is so cute we were able to immediately find two great back up locations within a two minute drive. :)

I’ll admit I was actually nervous about shooting this session- Every other family session we’ve done has been with kids, not all adults! I was worried about the posing feeling forced and awkward, but I’m really really proud at how these turned out. Of course, we lucked out with Larisa’s family being totally happy, easy going, and trusting of our style having worked with us on Larisa’s wedding day!

I love how sweet her parents are with each other. :)

Seriously- Downtown Newtown is adorable.

Cute siblings. :)

Thank you guys sooooo much for being amazing! Larisa, we hope to see you and Eric again next year! ;)

Brooke + Chris = Lucy + Eli

July 16, 2012 by Jensey 8 Comments

Brooke and Chris were one of our very first weddings. It’s hard to believe it’s been 5+ years and now they’re parents of twins! When Brooke first wrote us asking about scheduling a session with her two year olds, I’d be lying if I didn’t say I was a bit, well… Scared to death! But when Nate reminded me how amazing Brooke and Chris are and assured me we’d be just fine, I started to come around to the idea. And then got really, really excited. :)

It’s always been my dream to have twins. In fact, on one of Nate and my first dates, I announced that if I ever had twins, I’d keep one and give away the other and have them find each other when they’re 12, Parent Trap style. Don’t worry; I was only a little serious. ;) The closer to maybe-parenthood I get, the scarier twins seem. I still think it’s a dream of mine, but after spending just a smidgen of time with Brooke and her sweet family, I can tell you she truly is Wonder Mom!

Enough talking- Meet Lucy and Eli. :)

They weren’t too sure of us at the start of the shoot!

Every time we do a family session, I get the urge to be swung like this! If there are any giants reading this blog, come swing me!

Chris adores these kids and can do some mad gymnastics with Eli. I think they need to open a father/son show! :)

Eli looooooves his trucks!

Super Mom!

Had to post these. :)

Brooke amazed me many times this shoot, but the biggest thing was her ability to hold both kids at once while reading a book and turning the pages. It’s a wonder when I walk and chew gum at the same time!

I love family photos like this. :)

Brooke had more surprises up her sleeve for the munchkins- Balloons!

What started off as fun…

… Got a little heated! I said this on their preview post, but this is sincerely my favorite photo I’ve ever taken! Brooke said it sums up her life right now perfectly. :)

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chris, Brooke, Lucy, and Eli, thank you guys for playing with us!!!! We really, truly can’t wait to watch you grow up! :)

Brittany + Sean = Keelan

June 25, 2012 by Jensey 5 Comments

The first time we photographed Keelan was around Celebration two years ago. Boy, what a difference two years makes!

Brittany emailed us months before the shoot with a crazy idea she had- She wanted it to be a “trash the family” session with washable paint! We were all in, and decided to start off with a few non-trashed family portraits. :)

I think at first, Keelan was a tad bit camera shy. ;)

Keelan and that blue blanket- *Sigh*! A real life Linus. :)

I love seeing how sweet Brittany is with her Keelan. :)

Then, it was on to the paint fight!!!!!!

Brittany = Coolest. Mom. EVER!

Keelan was not having it towards the end of the paint fight, but it made for quite the epic portrait. :)

I love these kids. :)

As if that wasn’t fun enough, we ended the session at the Celebration fountain downtown. Keelan wasn’t feeling it, but had fun bossing around his parents and making them run through. :)

You guys, thank you so, so much! Can’t wait to play again next time. :)
