Ashleigh + Hal : Yacht and Beach Club Wedding and Epcot Reception

October 10, 2025 by Jensey Leave a Comment

A little break in weddings means I’m able to go through my wedding backlogs and share some favorites that never made the blog. I may still have one in my queue from March of 2020!

Ashleigh and Hal went to high school together, but didn’t meet until a Kenny Chesney concert. Yearsssss later (6, to be exact!), Ashleigh got a text from Hal asking if he’d seen her out in a local bar. One dinner led to six years of dating. Hal finally proposed with the help of Nala, their puppy, wearing a bandana asking, “will you marry my dad?”

It was no surprise that Ashleigh (who plans Disney trips for her clients!) and Hal would be tying the knot at Walt Disney World. What *was* a surprise, was that hurricane season would celebrate their marriage in its own way! Thankfully Ashleigh didn’t make it to our list of hurricane wedding postponements! Her original reception venue suffered some water damage and led to a plan B location that dare I say, was actually an upgrade to their original plan. ✨

Each year we deal with weddings and hurricane season and we try our best to calm our couple’s nerves. A few things to keep in mind:

  • This may be your first time planning an event during hurricane season, but it won’t be your wedding team’s first!
  • Disney has your back. They are tracking everything you are and if you haven’t heard from your team yet, don’t panic. They don’t want to freak you out too soon- there *will* be a plan.
  • Follow the right sources that are going to inform you, but not sensationalize the situation. My most trusted source is Denis Phillips! You can find him here on Instagram and Facebook.
A huge thanks to this wedding team!!!

Abby + Brendan | Boardwalk and Living Seas Disney Wedding

October 1, 2025 by Jensey Leave a Comment

Abby met Brendan at the University of Pittsburgh Library. Like a scene from a romantic comedy, Abby couldn’t get the printer to work, when suave Brendan came to the rescue. “I can fix that, I’m a rocket scientist!” (Brendan studied rockets in grad school.)
Or… at least that’s the story Abby told her friends when she actually met the love of her life on Tinder!
Their first date (ironically at a Pittsburgh bar named “The Library”) lasted six hours!! The following week brought three more dates. Then came Ellie May and Jethro, their cocker spaniels. It was on a trip to Aulani, in matching Star Wars Hawaiian shirts, when Brendan popped the question!!

We started the day at Disney’s Riviera Resort in my favorite way – with Abby and Brendan getting ready together. :)
Not gonna lie: our husbands could be brothers!
I loved the ways Abby and Brendan included the pups!!
Abby and Brendan, tell us when it’s time for the vow renewalllllll!!! <3

Anna + Kyle | Classic Disney Wedding

September 20, 2025 by Jensey Leave a Comment

Often on the blog I try to sum up something unique I learned about our couple. Sometimes there’s just no way to do that, so I’m copying this one directly from Anna’s first email to us, but it’s a good one. Enjoy their engagement story and buckle up!!

“We were on a trip to Olympic National Park in Washington State for Kyle‘s birthday in late April of 24. The weather was so gloomy and cloudy the whole weekend so Kyle carried the ring hiking for 3 days just hoping for a sunny moment with a view of Mt. Olympus to propose in front of. On the last night of our trip Kyle was in excruciating pain due to his gall bladder being inflamed (we knew about this previously and he had surgery scheduled back at home to have it removed the pain usually only lasted an hour or so before it passed) the next morning through the pain we went for one last walk on the beach we were staying on and he popped the question since we were headed back to FL that afternoon – it wasn’t what he envisioned but it was PERFECT!  After the celebration and an attempt to eat breakfast we ended up going to the hospital because Kyle was in so much pain…. a few hours later he was in emergency gallbladder removal surgery. We ended up stuck in Port Angeles, WA for a week for him to be safe to fly home…. and the sun finally came out so we drove back up Hurricane Ridge to view Mt. Olympus and he proposed again minus a gallbladder. It was quite the story but we wouldn’t have it any other way – in sickness and health right?!”

Needlepoint has become my anxiety relief the past few years, and I’m so happy to live 30 minutes from Novella Needlepoint. Imagine my joy when I saw the sweet picture frame Anna’s mom stitched for her, and that it came from Novella! :)

One of my all-time favorite getting ready rooms.

Sweet first look with Dad.

A moment for Anna and Kyle’s wedding florals, please.

I’ve never been so excited to race home and show my Indiana-Jones-loving son a photo!!

Oh Anna and Kyle, we can’t thank y’all enough for having us. We’re ready for the vow renewal when y’all are!!
