Kimberly + Mark : St. Thomas Marriott Frenchman’s Reef Wedding Part II

Continued from Kimberly and Mark’s St. Thomas Marriott Frenchman’s Reef Wedding Part I. :)

After the ceremony, Kimberly (a wedding photographer herself!) carved out tons of photo time before we had to be back on board.

The two most unexpected moments of the day: An iguana trying to open Mark’s beer, and our ride back to the boat getting a flat tire.

One thing a bride never wants to hear on her wedding day? Her cab driver saying, “No, there should be enough air to get you back to the boat. Don’t worry, if not, I’m sure I have a friend nearby that can pick you up.” He proceeded to get out and check the tire at every other stop light. While I’m sure 99% of couples out there would be freaking out about not getting back to the cruise ship in time for departure, Kimberly and Mark set the tone by laughing about it, and we all just sorta held our breath until we got back to the boat!!

Of course, there ended up being nothing to worry about and we made it back just in time for the golden hour of sunset. :)

If Royal Caribbean ever tried to market Oasis of the Seas weddings, good luck topping this one! ;)

After our session with them and the Yum Yum Truck in Celebration, it was only appropriate that Kimberly and Mark’s cake cutting be a cupcake smash! Lucky for us, the Oasis of the Seas has an on-board cupcake shop. :)

I love that we all just sort of happened upon this room for their first dance. So, so perfect.

Kimberly + Mark : St. Thomas Marriott Frenchman’s Reef Wedding Part I

Continued from Kimberly and Mark’s Yum Yum Truck Engagement Session AND their engagement session aboard Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas. :)

Kimberly and Mark decided to have their ceremony at Marriott Frenchman’s Reef Resort on St. Thomas. There were so many unknowns going into the wedding day and Kimberly was amazing and we never once saw her sweat it…. Even though we only had a certain amount of time to get off the boat, get cabs to the Marriott, check into the hotel, have hair and make-up done for Kimberly and her bridesmaids, get married, then take cabs back to the boat before “all aboard” time. Even when the cab got a flat tire. (More on that lovely story later!)

See? Only real smiles. She’s my favorite. :)

Randomly enough, this was actually our second wedding at Marriott Frenchman’s Reef. Our first was Julie and Christopher’s wedding!

Kimberly had these adorable shoes picked out but opted for true-to-her Sperry boat shoes instead. I love her even more for it!

Kimberly had some of my all time favorite “getting ready” photos. She was just so darn excited!! :)

Kimberly’s dad couldn’t make it to the wedding, but he was there every step of the day via iPad. Nate was helping hold it here so her dad could see all the girls at once. :)

My #2, #3, and #4 favorite getting ready shots below. First, we have Kimberly excitedly slipping into her wedding dress using her self-proclaimed “t-rex hands.” Swooooooooooon!

My mom gave me away over the phone, so Kimberly’s “iPad Dad” put a lump in my throat for sure. :)

As I mentioned earlier, this was our second time photographing a ceremony at Marriott Frenchman’s Reef. So weird because in a few short years, the ceremony site changed so much!

And then they literally “tied the knot.”

Soon enough, Castaway Cay day was here! I’d been wanting to visit Castaway Cay since I was a kid and the Disney Channel did a special on it.

I’m convinced Disney threw in some pixie dust to make that water as pretty as possible!

We got up so early to take pictures around the island before the other guests got off the boat. I know these guys were exhausted, but I loved feeling like the only ones on the island. :)

Favorite!

After their little “just married” session, Nathan and I biked around the island. Both my dad and brother are pilots, so I loved all the little aviation touches. Even the bathrooms were themed with airplane doors on the walls and vintage Piper Cub signs. :)

I’m not gonna lie… The crab races got a little intense!

So, as we were about to get back on the Disney Wonder, we ran into Cassie, who was signing up to go parasailing. Now here’s the thing- I’m sort of a quirky person. I have a lot of fears that most people don’t think twice about. My biggest fear? Killer whales, closely followed by pretty much every other creature that lives underwater. So, I tried to play it cool when Cassie asked if we wanted to join them, casually explaining how I was planning to go take a nap or something, but my inner dialogue going something like “OH PLEASE MOTHER OF GOD DO NOT MAKE ME DO IT I DON’T WANNA I DON’T WANNA!!!!” Lucky for me, there was only one spot left, to which I totally and completely selflessly suggested Nate go instead of me. ;) I love that Nate went, though, because seriously- Aren’t these the cutest honeymoon photos ever? :)

Then it was Nate’s turn to go up with Melissa, one of John’s sisters. :)

So, long story short, after a day of biking around the island with no water, Nate and I both made ourselves sick! My story was much less embarrassing than poor Nate’s, but I love him too much to publicly post what happened on the blog. I will say it’s a good one though, so make sure you ask us about it in person. ;)
