We got an email from someone who told us about Dee’s story and wanted to anonymously gift her a maternity session. Just two days later, Dee emailed us asking to book a maternity session, and told us that even though she didn’t have much of a “bump” yet, she wanted some photos done to capture her pregnancy before chemo. I wanted to reach through the computer screen and hug her immediately, but just a few days later we were meeting our newest friends in Celebration.
I don’t even know what else to write here, because I feel like no matter what I try to say, I can’t put into words the unfairness, empathy, confusion, and love I have towards this woman I just met. Pregnancy is hard enough, life is hard enough, being a human being is hard enough- But meeting a couple like this, going through all this, and still smiling and snuggling and laughing? Just puts it all in perspective.
Such a sweet, naturally love-y couple- Their baby boy won the parental jackpot, for sure.
To follow this crazy strong woman’s story, head over to her blog here—> Breast Cancer During Pregnancy. Dee, you’re so strong and brave to share your story with other women who may find themselves in the same spot. I’ll be reading along every day and can’t wait to meet your baby boy!
