Taylor + Michael : Wedding Events

February 23, 2012 by Jensey 1 Comment

Before we get to the glory of Taylor and Michael’s wedding day, I thought I’d share some photos from the incredible weekend they put on for their guests. After being flown in to the Bahamas and taking a boat to Green Turtle Cay, we were all treated like kings! We had our own little golf carts to ride around the island, and each day was splashed with such incredible details that all fit with Taylor’s shabby chic vintage theme. It was all designed by our amazing bride and her fabulous wedding planner, the one and only Lisa Stoner of E-Events.

Taylor and Michael’s welcome party for their guests was held on this dock. There was a man serving conch to arriving guests, half way down the dock was a hut with drinks and details, and at the end of the dock was a lounge area for mingling!

I love the welcome baskets all of their guests received. :)

Nate learned more about gutting and making conch than he ever expected to know. (Editor note: Like the fact that there are eyes, a mouth, and a claw in that photo to the right!)

I’m happy to report no one fell in the water! :)

Night two was the rehearsal dinner at the Green Turtle Club …

… Which included the incredible Junkanoo! You can read more about on Wikipedia, but the band was unlike anything I’d ever seen!

I love how sweet Michael is with Taylor. :)

And those were just the pre-wedding events! Part one of their wedding day coming to the blog tomorrow. :)

Wanna read more? These are good, too! :)

Taylor + Michael : Engagement

February 20, 2012 by Jensey 6 Comments

Welcome to Taylor and Michael week on the Root Photography blog! We’re kicking things off with Taylor and Michael’s engagement session, and then we’ll get on to their absolutely stunning wedding in the Abaco Islands in the Bahamas.

When Taylor and Michael chose to have their engagement session on Michael’s family ranch in Debary, we were sorta kinda really, really excited. When we arrived to shoot and learned it would also involve driving four wheelers across the property and their two labs, well… I think Nate’s grin may have rivaled the one on our wedding day! ;)

These guys are as sweet as they are good-lookin’. :)

Gotta love a girl in Wellies! :)

Favorite! :)

I love how Michael loves Taylor!

My favorite kind of light. :)

Tune in every day this week for more Taylor and Michael love!

Kaitlyn + Eric : Wedding Part II

February 16, 2012 by Jensey Leave a Comment

Continued from Kaitlyn and Eric’s Wedding Part I.

One of my all time favorite bridal portraits. :)

I was so thankful Kaitlyn braved the rain for a couple outdoor portraits. :)

The rain rain rain came down down down In rushing, rising riv’lets!

The ballroom looked magical, huge thanks to Kaitlyn’s excellent coordinator- Jessy of the Eventfully Yours team!

I love a good first dance photo. :)

Favorite. :)

Just a litttle bit of a party going on here.

Kaitlyn and Eric, thank you so much for everything! We love you guys!
