Devon + Dan : Greenville, SC Wedding at The Avenue

November 13, 2019 by Jensey Leave a Comment

To understand the great we love we have for this sweet family, you’d need to first visit Devon’s sisters’ weddings:

Erin and Mark in Rose Valley, PA
Kate and Anthony in Greenville, SC

Our business is only a business because of our word-of-mouth referrals. Y’all have sent us to your best friends and complete strangers and we’re forever grateful for it! The honor of being a wedding photographer is brought back tenfold when families keep us around- This was our *third* wedding for these siblings (and there maaaaay be a 4th just around the corner- *cough* Jason! *cough*)

Erin was our first bride of this favorite family- I loved them all so much immediately I even jumped in a photo with these sisters when I first met them! (I don’t think I’ve *ever* done that, lol!) While we didn’t get a chance to take it again on Kate’s wedding day, we did do it on Devon’s!

(Just ignore my sleepy eyes- I didn’t have a sleep-talking two year old in my hotel room the night before Erin’s wedding!)

Before I continue, here are links to this amazing vendor team! We love doing weddings out of state and meeting new “friendors,” but it’s incredibly depressing when we find a vendor we love so much we wish we could work with them back home! If you live in South Carolina (or are open to a florist traveling to your wedding!), you’ll find no one greater than Anna Stouffer of Urban Petals. I love her so much, and not *just* because Devon’s mother is a key part of her incredible team!!

Venues: Ceremony at St. Mary’s Church followed by a reception at The Avenue in downtown Greenville

Cake Designer: Brick Street Cafe
Catering: Table 301

Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaavorite. <3

There *may* have been a *minor* emergency the morning of Devon’s wedding regarding her bustle never being put in. Thanks to the quickest alterations you can imagine, the problem was fixed in maybe 30 minutes and Devon was nothing but calm and grace through the whole dilemma. <3

First look time in front of St. Mary’s Catholic Church! <3

Love this look on Dan’s face! :)

Devon, you were stunning!!!!

Greenville churches seem to have pretty strict photography policies, but I love the little we were able to capture! <3

Root Lifers portraits <3 <3

I should also say here that leading up to Devon’s wedding day, we were bracing for a 100% chance of rain headed our way. We were fresh off the heels of Claudia and Paul’s tropical storm wedding, so when the rain chances cleared and we were instead given a perfect temperature with overcast skies, we couldn’t have been happier!!

We could shoot in downtown Greenville allllll day! <3

Another favorite. <3

Palermo family, thank you for making us yours!! We love you more than words can say- Please come visit Orlando soon!!! :)

Claudia + Paul : Rainy Wedding at The Kimpton Brice Hotel in Savannah, Georgia

October 31, 2019 by Jensey 1 Comment

Claudia first met Paul when she was a Disney Tour Guide who visited the Jungle Cruise on a daily basis and Paul was a cute Jungle Cruise Skipper. It wasn’t until a decade later when they both took on new jobs in Disney Special Events and sat next to each other, and the rest is history. <3

Nate and I met beautiful Claudia years ago when she worked with our bests, Nick and Jessie at Magic Kingdom Guest Relations! She was a guest at a couple weddings we photographed and mentioned years ago that she wanted us to shoot her wedding someday. I was beyond honored she remembered us when the time came and I can’t imagine *not* being a part of this one! <3

This wedding had EVERYTHING:

– The rainiest first look you ever did see. (No- seriously. I was on my hands and knees with the bridesmaids blow-drying her veil.)
– Doctor Who touches galore!
– A STANLEY PRETZEL DAY BAR FROM THE OFFICE.
– A Nintendo wedding cake!!
– Jungle Cruise background music while guests were being seated (to honor the groom, a past skipper!)
– And… Last but certainly not least: BABY HANDS.

One of my favorite moments of the day took place when I was setting up this shoe photo in the lobby of the Kimpton Brice hotel! Two women were standing behind us and I heard one excitedly say, “Ohhh, that’s a great idea! Take a photo so our photographer will do that too!” Sure enough, the women were Claudia and Paul’s mothers and we immediately earned their seal of approval. <3

Leading up to this wedding day, the forecast wasn’t looking good. And by “not good,” we’re talking a 100% chance of rain thanks to a tropical storm rolling through! Thankfully, Claudia and Paul chose the Kimpton Brice Hotel to get married, which meant no shortage of amazing light, big windows, and indoor photo ops!

Just one of the many sweet personal touches of their day! Claudia and Paul exchanged private vows during their first look, and this little Tardis book held Claudia’s words for Paul. <3

Taken on our walk to the first look. I know. But the rain was worth it- Nate and I agree this may be our favorite first look ever. Ever ever ever ever. <3

My #1 favorite favorite favorite that I’m so happy we took before updating our website- Claudia, this is movie worthy!!

Nate’s favorite. <3

See? All dry! :)

Their wedding ceremony went rain back up, but it was just as sweet. <3

We had about a 3 minute break from rain so I grabbed the girls and headed outside!

So so sooooo many favorites. <3

Can we talk about how beautiful our best friends are? Jessie is my Kate Middleton and I’m convinced she made a deal with the devil to stop all signs of aging 10 years ago. <3

Root Lifers photo!!! Claudia and Paul, we love y’all- Thank you for giving us the honor of being your wedding photographers! We can’t wait to share more soon! :)

Carissa + Travis : Haunted Mansion Themed Disney Wedding

October 18, 2019 by Jensey Leave a Comment

Thank goodness for this Haunted Mansion-themed wedding and all the spoopy Halloween content it’s going to give my Instagram feed the next couple weeks!! <3

Carissa and Travis met at work as EMTs. In fact, until this summer, they were partners for 12 hour shifts on an ambulance. <3

Their friendship grew from a shared love of Disney and it ended up being their first vacation together! Travis even proposed to Carissa on The Haunted Mansion: specifically in the attic, in front of the bride. <3

This wedding was special for so many reasons:

– Haunted Mansion table linens (be still my Magic Kingdom-loving heart!)
– A bride in glasses!
– Our first Epcot dessert party with the new Epcot Forever fireworks!
– A bride in Steamboat Willie slippers!
– A fun meetup with another Disney bride and all of HER wedding vendors who are our pals, too!
– The knowledge that with our EMT couple, I could pass out at any moment and be perfectly taken care of!

I could go on and on, but without further ado, enjoy a peek into Travis and Carissa’s day! :)

Dear Santa- take note of these, please! :)

The inside of Travis’s ring had the coordinates to The Haunted Mansion, where he proposed to Carissa. <3

Operation make Dad cry- check!

This. First. Look. <3 I know I always state my love for these, but Travis fighting back tears (unsuccessfully btw) just gives me all the feels. :)

Fellow Disney nerds- how appropriate is that pattern on her parasol?! <3

Carissa made friends with another fellow Disney bride with the same wedding date and venue so we got to have a little meet up! :)

Which meant I got a selfie with my Disney wedding planner bests! <3

Every detail was so thought out. <3

One of my most most favorites. <3

Thank you for stopping by at the most perfect moment, Monorail Green! <3

Carissa and Travis, we can’t wait to share the rest in the coming weeks!! Thank you for letting us be a part of your amazing day!! :)

Huge thanks to our vendor team!!
