Yay Giveaway!

Today is one of those silly milestones that might not seem like much, but it’s a pretty big deal for me.

This is my 1000th blog post. 1000, you guys!!

We wanted to do something fun to commemorate it, so here we go! Years ago we did a session giveaway and loved the response. It actually led us to meeting one of our favorite families, one of the daughters eventually becoming our wedding assistant for a while! :)

So maybe you’ve been putting off booking that family photo session. Or you want to see my cute husband climb a tree. Maybe it’s been 10 years since your wedding and you haven’t been in front of the camera since. We want to hear from you!

Nathanial and I will be giving away one free portrait session* and USB drive (Valued at $700.) All entries must be received by Sunday, July 26th as we will be announcing our winner Thursday, July 30th on the blog.

All you have to do is take a photo of you and whomever else will be photographed and write a little something about why YOU should be in front of our cameras and send your entry to yaygiveaway@rootweddings.com. Your 10 day deadline begins now… We can’t wait to meet you! :)

*Your entry must be received by Sunday, July 26th at 11:59pm EST. The winner will be announced on the blog on Thursday, July 30th. Session date is based on our availability. Session must take place in Central Florida and take place by the end of June 2016 unless otherwise discussed. Must be at least 18 years old to enter. :)

Jude : Wilderness Lodge Family Session

I literally could not think of a better session to be my 999th(!!!!!!!) blog post. Meet one of our favorite families: Chris, Rita, and soon-to-be a big brother Juuuuuuuuude! (may have put a couple extra u’s in there.)

We’ve shot these guys on May 9th for three years now. Yes- The exact same day each year. You can see the other two here and here. :)

And because flashback photos make me swoon and get me all emotional about this job, here’s Jude the first day we met him and then now. <3

I love photographing these guys for a multitude of reasons, the biggest being how much I smile while editing their photos. :)

My favorite moment from the session (other than watching Jude and Nate be bffs) was when we were asking him if he’s excited for his little sister. Jude responded with, “Yes, I’m going to bury her.” I’m preeeeeeetty sure he didn’t know what he was saying and we all laughed but Rita, let’s keep an eye on this one, shall we? ;)

Erica + Arminder : Murietta’s Well Winery Wedding in Livermore, California

Ah, Murietta’s Well Winery. <3 There are certain wedding locations where you couldn’t take a bad picture if you tried, and this is one of them. Erica and Arminder were married exactly two years after our last wedding at this charming Livermore venue. With my favorite relatives all residing in northern California, I would *love* for this to become a biannual tradition! :)

We met Erica and Arminder at Murietta’s Well and started the day with a first look in the vineyard.

While Erica and Arminder joined their guests for dinner in the cellar, Nate and I enjoyed our vendor meal during sunset on the balcony. I love that one of the most romantic dinners we’ve ever shared was on the job. ;)
