I often feel like I’m putting on my old lady glasses (ok, my every-day glasses) and talking into an internet void here! I try really hard to get everyone up here, but it’s so hard being pulled in every direction of social media; the blog definitely falls to the bottom of the pile some months.
But the truth is, I know it’s a bit old-fashioned now, but I genuinely enjoy sharing blog posts and telling little stories about our couples on here. I feel like it’s a good ending to the wedding day to-do lists we have for our events, which also I guess explains why I keep saving some favorite weddings for months, sometimes years! I just don’t want some weddings to end. :)
All that being said, let’s talk about Emily and Ben today! They met through a mutual friend sophomore year of college. Emily’s friends were throwing her a birthday party and invited a friend from back home, who then brought *his* friend, Ben! After finding out they lived in the same dorm, and Ben kicking her butt in beer pong, a friendship started and the rest is history. :)
Emily had a feeling something was up when Ben’s grandma suggested Emily join her to get their nails done, in case they want to take some photos on an upcoming trip to Sedona. His grandma then took her shopping for dresses, which kept the suspicion going, and it was confirmed when she came home to her usual t-shirt and sneakers boyfriend dressed in a button down and khakis. Ben drove her to the Chapel of the Holy Cross in Sedona, and while Emily was taking in the views, Ben dropped down to one knee and proposed.
Emily and Ben chose to get married at Paradise Cove here in Orlando and couldn’t wait to have 30 of their closest friends and family all in the same place to celebrate their big day. :)

Oh my goodness! Look at me seeing this a MONTH late! Ever since the wedding day, time has been flying by (we’re actually moving to Florida in June after Ben graduates med school!). Thank you, Roots, for being part of our most special day. My only regret- not having more events so we could’ve just kept hanging out with Nate!!! We will see you (and hopefully Jensey too!) at a family session in the future! :)
It was such a fun day and we’re glad to know you’ll be even closer next time!! :)
