When I was a senior in high school and made the decision to go to the University of Tennessee Knoxville, I didn’t have a friend to room with. I was put into the random roommate assignment and hoped and prayed that I wouldn’t be placed with a psycho killer. Sarah moved into my room a week before I did because she was rushing a sorority, and when Mom and I came in to unpack, she wasn’t there.
I’d written Sarah a letter when I got our roommate assignment and let her know how much I loved Disney (shocker, I know), and I guarantee you that letter didn’t prepare her for my half of the dorm room, which looked like Disney vomited all over it!
While it took us a bit to find some common ground as a sorority girl and Disney nerd, I quickly learned Sarah was a total nerd too, and I couldn’t have been put with a better roommate that first semester. We bonded over hundreds of viewings of Legally Blonde and Christmas Vacation, and before I knew it, she went from my roommate Sarah to my friend Sarah. As we said goodbye when I left for the Walt Disney World College Program, I thought for sure we’d lose touch and I’d never see her again. But thanks to Facebook and the occasional drunk phone calls before Facebook, Sarah and I keep in touch, and now we both live in Nashville! Granted, we’ve yet to actually hang out with our respective crazy schedules, but I’m hoping that changes soon. :)
When she wrote me about being engaged and her wedding plans, I was over the moon that my sweet college roommate asked us to photograph her day. Sarah has amazing style and I just know her wedding will be fabulous. I finally got to meet Zach, her amazing fiance, and we shot their engagement session around her parents’ amazing home in Leiper’s Fork. Their property is beautiful and is going to be the perfect venue for their wedding this fall! This session truly is one of my all time favorites, and I’m so excited to finally share it with you!
I’m buying him a horse someday. That face! *Swooooooooon!*
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE!
Sarah, you’re the prettiest. :)
I’m not even gonna label my favorite, because they’re all my favorites. True story.
Sarah said every time she drives past this creek on her parents’ property, she thinks it’d be the perfect spot for photos.
Ok… You know you’re in Tennessee when you don’t see someone’s dog roaming a creek, but a horse!
Sarah said she used to jump on these hay bails as a kid! :)
Proof this was Nate’s favorite session ever, as well. :)
This spot Sarah took us to last is my favorite- I’m hoping to get them in wedding attire here this fall! :)
I totally lied before- This is my favorite. Ever. :)
Sarah and Zach, I love you guys, and I’m counting the days til September! :)

That image of them sitting under the horses with each horse looking in the opposite direction is gorgeous! (They all are, but WOW that one is on the Epic side). I can’t wait to see their wedding and congrats to your roomate/friend on her engagement! <3
