There’s no denying that I love high fashion. It’s an art form that a handful of people create and only a few can master, and design wise, it influences every aspect of our lives– interior décor, tv shows (yay for Project Runway’s July 28th return!), magazines, etc.
The only downside is that, like fine art, Vogue-worthy designers aren’t exactly affordable to the masses. So today, I’m doing a Look for Less-style inspiration board. Remember that show Elizabeth Hasselbeck hosted before The View? Her picks were sometimes questionable, but her perky personality always left a bless-her-heart smile on my face. :)
To show you just how easy it can be to find affordable alternatives, I’ve chosen two designer looks hot off the Resort 2012 runways that cost up to several thousand dollars and created options whose price tags don’t include a comma. ;) Whether you have an engagement shoot, portrait session, or family shoot coming up, consider looking to the runways for a bit of inspiration. :)
Moschino for Less : Cardigan ($29), Skirt ($39), Sandals ($65), Sunglasses ($10)
DSquared2 for Less : Shorts ($32), Shirt ($98), Belt ($48), Sunglasses ($98)

Love the white skirt and pink sweater combo! I am hopeless with clothes unless they are black, white, tan or gray and also the kind of person who goes in to IKEA and buys the whole room or walks into Banana Republic and buys the display outfits. Definitely getting this one!

This would look soooo adorable on you, Kristin!
And I know what you mean, it’s easy to go into a store and buy the display, but if you’re looking to define you’re own style, I would suggest going to boutiques.com. You’re able to curate your own “boutique” of the things you like, and a lot of stylists, designers and celebrities are on there, so it’s easy to get inspiration. :)
I may need to get engaged again now. I wonder what Gavin would say…. I love that tulle skirt and cardigan!
Sara-Jayne, the pink and tulle totally complement you’re wedding look! Perhaps, an anniversary shoot? :)
Adorable! :o)
Thanks, Lorie! It was one of my two wedding looks (I had a big dress too, but it was too hot for outside…and I love any chance to buy pretty pink things) and it was so fun to wear. I think an Anniversary shoot would be fantastic ;)
