Nathanial and I just had the pleasure of taking our first trip to Orlando as non-residents. We had such a great time- I was so worried that as we’d be driving home to Nashville, I’d get this sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach telling me we’d made a huge mistake moving, but instead, I experienced the opposite. I so love Orlando, but I know in my heart it’s not where we need to be right now. We had the best trip; spent so much time in the parks and had more date nights than we had all last year! I love Orlando when home is somewhere else. I also love being able to work and live in one place, and leave ‘play’ work (shooting) and vacationing in another. It’s such a freeing feeling!
Our two week trip to Orlando was packed with events : Five portrait sessions and two weddings, to be exact! Granted, both weddings were less than 5 hour work days for us, but it was a crazy busy trip, regardless. :)
I love how all of our sessions tie together in some way…
We kicked things off with Jennifer and Kristopher’s engagement session :
It was so wonderful catching up with Jennifer – We worked in good ol’ Fantasyland together…
… As did Katie and I! Katie and Jason are getting married in Ohio later this year, and we met them around Downtown Disney for some photos.
The day after meeting with Katie and Jason (above), we met with Katie and Jordan (below). If that’s not confusing enough, both Katie and Katie contacted us the same week about shooting their weddings, booked us around the same time, and now their engagement photos lined up together. Not only that, but Katie and Jordan (below) got engaged while in their gym clothes, and Katie and Jason (above) met when Katie took Jason’s boot camp workout class. Luckily, we only slipped up on Jordan’s name once. And by “we,” I mean Nate. Just sayin’. :)
So. Stinking. Cute.
We’re photographing Katie and Jordan’s wedding (above) and getting to work with our favorite videographer, Jeffrey Stoner (below)! We met up with him and his lovely lady Lisa for some in love photos in the alleys of Winter Park…
… Where we also photographed Gloria and Joel’s engagement session! Gloria is the sister-in-law of Marielys, who prettied up the blog last week!
Whew! With that, I’m spent. :) Wedding previews coming next!
Erin Daniels says
Yay for previews!!! Not that all these couples aren’t gorgeous, but I think the next wedding previews might just be even better ;)
So cute!! Can’t wait to see the rest! :) We had so much fun with you guys!
Us, too, Katie! :)
These are adorable! I’ll have to catch you on your next trip!
Yes, please! We’d loooove to get together. :)
At first I thought you were crazy for moving away from WDW, but your logic makes a lot of sense! These shots are great! I hope someday I can book you guys for some portraits. :D
I’m so glad you “get it”! I definitely miss it, but it’s so nice to come “home” now and appreciate it!
We shoot in Winter Park a lot, but never think about the alleys. Love the industrial feel with the meters! They’re great :)
Oh yeah, the alleys are the best part!
I have to agree with Erin!! They are all gorgeous couples but I’m way excited for the wedding previews!!
Danielle, did you just become an O’Donnell? That’s my maiden name! I’m glad I could give it to another Root bride in the same weekend.
She did just become an O’Donnell- 3 days before your wedding! :)
My 2 favorite parts of the day were:
1- Looking down only to discover Nathan was simultaneously shooting from in between your feet while lying on the street
2- The moment Jeffrey “busted” Nathan for stealing some rocks and putting them in his jeans’ pockets. “We take rocks from every shoot!”
Super-duper fun!
I have to agree, but we can’t forget the- what was it- Cindy Crawford method of loosening the lips? Some of my all time favorite “in love” photos. :)
YAYYYYYYYY I didnt even think we were up!!!! Ahhh I cant wait to see more. You guys are awesome!!!!
Yay! I hope you love them like we do!
Great pictures. Jason is my son with his fiance, Katie.
Thank you, Pam! We look forward to meeting you at the wedding! :)
