The Great Christmas Tree Hunt

December 21, 2010 by Jensey 18 Comments

I’d never had a live Christmas tree before Nathanial and I met- But this was the first year we went to chop one down ourselves. Yes. Like in the movies. :)

I haven’t a clue what we were laughing at, but I always love giggly photos. :)

As we looked for the perfect tree, my heart fell hard for the “Charlie Brown” trees!

We took advantage of the soft light and took some photos of each other. :)

I loved Jon’s reaction when they were about to give up looking for a tree!

Nate and I were the first to find the tree of our dreams- Part Charlie Brown tree, part Festivus pole. :) I fully intend to have an “Airing of Grievances” around the dinner table.

“It’s a Festivus miracle!” How many people can balance their tree on the tip of their nose? We can!

Jon and Lorie did manage to find their perfect tree. I love the comparison of these two! :)

I hope you’re all having a magical December! We’ll post photos of our tree all decorated soon enough. :) Happy holidays!

Oh, what fun!!! Isn’t it awesome to go on a hunt for a live Christmas tree?? My family has wonderful memories of this…..now you are starting your own tradition. Can’t wait to see the final result.

LOVE this post, guys! I’m beyond jealous that you can actually cut down your own Christmas Tree — I dont think Ive EVER seen a place to do that in Florida. *sad face*

And Jensey — Good Lord, girl! Your eyes are fantastically gorgeous!! ♥ Merry Christmas Root Family!

Thank you, Cheese!! I love the beard, too, but I still can’t decide if I want it to stay or go! I think it looks adorable, but I miss “seeing” him! I know you’re partial to the scruff. ;) We hope to see you soon, too! Email to come shortly! :)

I ADORE your tree :) Were it not for our cats, we would have a real one also… Unfortunately, as it is, we wake up each morning to one of them sleeping on the limbs of our artificial tree and about half the ornaments on the floor.
Happy Christmas to you all! I hope you have a magical holiday time!

Yikes! Luckily Huck is too short to reach the tree!
