I can’t believe it’s already been two years since we photographed Cynthia and Shane’s Disney wedding! My favorite thing about the ‘age’ of our business right now, if you will, is that so many of our past couples are starting families. :) I know what some of you are thinking, “Roots! I thought you didn’t photograph families!” Well, let me explain our policy like this: Weddings are our bread and butter. They take up most of our time, but every now and then, we have holes in our schedule. This is when we start accepting family sessions! First priority to these spots goes to past couples, and then our own family and friends. Then we’re able to open it up to new families. :) We really are hoping to do a lot more sessions like this in the future, though, especially if you’re located in Tennessee. ;) Anyway…
Meet Violet, aka the cutest baby that ever walked the planet. Complete with DAISY SANDALS! Violet likes to wave. See? :)
Another wave- She waved at Nate much more than me. Not that I’m jealous or anything…
The other thing she loves to do is pick up leaves and give them to people. :)
Hello, Violet. :)
The 3rd thing we learned Violet loves to do is play airplane. She runs around with her arms out, and even makes sound effects. :)
Violet also loves dogs…
… And her sweet mommy. :)
It gave me warm fuzzies to see how amazing Cynthia and Shane are with their little girl. :)
I challenge you- Look at these photos for 10 seconds each and try not to yawn. Do it. I even yawned while typing that. ;)
Violet, I hope you come back and play next year!! :)

These were actually taken in Celebration, but TN is prettier!!!
What type of lens and aperture did this?

Seems like the area of focus is about 4 inches. That’s one tiny slice of reality.
The 50mm at f/2. :) Thanks for noticing!
About 75% of the images from their session were shot at f/2.2 or wider. (We only used the 85mm and 50mm.)
What a sweet little girl! :) Great pics guys! The color is just beautiful and it looks like you captured this little one perfectly!
Thanks, Leigh!!
I did yawn in the 10th second. I think I wanted to though.
It gets me every time. :)
Sounds like you guys are going to be coming up here more often :) I’m a little excited, it would be great to see your work in our neck of the woods-Nashville needs some more awesome photographers!
Well, we kinda live here now, so yeah. :) We had our first shoot around Franklin this week! Excited to share. :)
Oh, I had no idea you guys were moving here! Congrats! Where about in Nashville are you guys living? We’ll have to get together sometime!
I yawned. I totally yawned! she’s adorable!
